SUMMARY OF DUTIES: The Cardiac Direct Access Clinic (CDAC) RN plays a critical role in providing timely, patient-centered care for established and new cardiology patients with urgent but non-emergent concerns. This role supports rapid assessment, triage, treatment coordination, and patient education in collaboration with Advanced Practice Providers (APPs). The RN functions with a high level of clinical judgment, autonomy, and teamwork to improve access to care and reduce unnecessary emergency department utilization.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Specific duties include, but are not limited to:
Performs all duties under active supervision, following defined protocols and escalation pathways to ensure safe, high-quality care.
Triages patients using CDAC protocols, identifying red-flag symptoms and escalating to APPs or ED as needed.
Performs clinical procedures including 12-lead EKGs, treadmill tests, IV access, and administration of IV and oral medications per order.
Monitors patient response to treatment and promptly communicates changes to the provider team.
Coordinates and ensures timely completion of diagnostic testing, including labs, imaging, and ECGs.
Supports same-day, follow-up, and urgent access visits by assisting APPs and maintaining efficient patient flow.
Serves as a patient advocate and primary point of contact; provides education, discharge instructions, and call triage with appropriate referrals.
PAY RANGE:$38-45/hr to start (dependent upon experience and education)

QUALIFICATIONS
Education: Minimum: Graduate from an accredited school of nursing.
Experience: Minimum of 2 years of clinical nursing experience preferred; cardiology, telemetry, ICU, or ED experience preferred.
Certificate/License: Current Alaska State licensure for RN is required. Current CPR certification required. ACLS preferred.
