Job Description:

The Closing Coordinator position was created to assist the Loan Coordinator in the preparation of each file for closing in tandem with the Loan Coordinator's efforts in obtaining the CTC. The Closing Coordinator, with the guidance of the LC, will work with internal departments as well as third parties in ensuring the accuracy and completion of all file documentation and information to ensure a problem free and timely submission to closing. The Loan Coordinator will also facilitate and confirm the closing date and time with all parties.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • The Closing Coordinator will complete the following tasks on each file:

  • Upon Initial Approval/Underwriting Submission:
  • Review the approval and coordinate with LC regarding any Funding or At Close conditions
  • Review existing file documentation and request further documentation or corrections as necessary to ensure complete, accurate and matching documentation:
  • Insurance
  • Title
  • Wire Instructions
  • Closing Protection Letter
  • Payoff (for refinances)
  • Appraisal
  • Begin and track collaboration with settlement agent within CD Exchange
  • Submit for insurance review once documentation is complete and accurate
  • Ensure completion of all necessary parties in the Encompass tracking screen for CD creation and fraud review
  • Begin completion of Closing Checklist


Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • CD Process:
  • Ensure CD collaboration with settlement agent is complete
  • Ensure all previous Loan Estimates are properly labeled and filed correctly in the eFolder
  • Provide preliminary fees to ensure accurate initial closing disclosure
  • Ensure accurate completion of all borrower fees paying close attention to those POC and the accuracy of the LE
  • Ensure accuracy of closing and funding date
  • Completion of closing transmittal
  • Submission to CD desk
  • Follow-up on borrower receipt and signature


Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Submission to Closing Upon CTC
  • Schedule and confirm closing with all parties
  • Ensure Closing Checklist is complete and accurate
  • Complete final CT and obtain VPO approval
  • Submit to closing
  • Address any issues from closing facilitator

  • Additionally, the Closing Coordinator will monitor the pipeline and track all upcoming closing dates in a proactive way

Skills and Competencies

  • The Closing Coordinator will remain up to date on all relevant trainings, updates to investor insurance requirements, and internal communications which affect both Sales and Operations.
