Job description

POSITION SUMMARY
The CCTV Technician is responsible for diagnosing and repairing camera systems used in specialized camera trucks for municipalities, water utilities and related industries. This role requires technical expertise in electronic equipment, attention to detail, and the ability to troubleshoot and resolve complex issues to ensure equipment is fully operational.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Reasonable Accommodations may be made to enable qualified individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.
  • Inspect and diagnose camera systems in accordance with manufacturer procedures and guidelines
  • Repair or replace defective components, ensuring proper functionality of the equipment
  • Test and validate camera system performance following repairs or maintenance
  • Provide training, technical support, and troubleshooting assistance to Equipment Consultants and customers
  • Assist in the installation, configuration, and integration of camera systems into trucks, ensuring compatibility and proper operation
  • Maintain accurate records of parts used and assist in managing inventory for camera system components
  • Order replacement parts as needed, following company protocol
  • Collaborate with customers and Equipment Consultants to understand system needs and communicate repair progress
KNOWLEDGE, SKILL, AND ABILITIES
  • Strong knowledge of electronic circuits, wiring and camera technology
  • Proficiency with diagnostic tools, soldering and other repair techniques
  • Intermediate computer proficiency
  • Ability to read and interpret manuals and schematics
  • Capable of handling a variable workload with minimal supervision
  • Competent using Microsoft Office Software
  • Strong communication skills
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively on projects/repairs
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
  • High school diploma
  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience in electronics or camera equipment
  • Experience working with municipal or utility vehicles
  • Knowledge of software and hardware integration for camera systems
  • Familiarity with sewer or pipeline inspection equipment preferred
  • Experience using ERP systems (NetSuite preferred)
