Job description

Amentum, a global leader in critical mission support, engineering, technology, and national security solutions, is seeking a CCTV Technician to support a government contract based in El Paso, TX.

POSITION SUMMARY

The CCTV Technician is responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing closed-circuit television (CCTV) systems and associated components, including digital video recorders, communications switches, touch screen displays, and low-voltage cabling infrastructure. This role requires advanced technical expertise to resolve complex issues and ensure the reliability and performance of surveillance and communications systems.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Apply advanced technical knowledge to diagnose and resolve complex system issues beyond standard manufacturer documentation.
  • Perform circuit analysis, waveform calculations, and signal flow tracing to isolate and repair malfunctions.
  • Utilize advanced test instruments such as oscilloscopes, frequency synthesizers, distortion analyzers, high-frequency generators, and computer-controlled diagnostic equipment.
  • Maintain, troubleshoot, and repair CCTV cameras, series positioning systems, DVR/NVR equipment, and supporting infrastructure.
  • Perform installation and maintenance of low-voltage cabling to support CCTV and related systems.
  • Ensure system compliance with technical standards and engineering changes.
  • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior technicians as required.
  • Prepare and maintain system documentation, schematics, and as-built drawings.
  • Collaborate with management and end users to understand system needs and deliver effective solutions.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Minimum of five (5) years of experience in electronics, communications, or related technical fields, with hands-on expertise in CCTV systems.
  • Demonstrated history of excellent troubleshooting and repair skills.
  • Strong functional expertise in CCTV systems, DVR/NVR solutions, positioning systems, and related components.
  • Advanced troubleshooting and diagnostic skills for complex electronic and communication systems.
  • Proficiency in reading and interpreting schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical documentation.
  • Skilled in low-voltage cable installation and maintenance.
  • Effective oral and written communication skills; ability to explain technical issues to non-technical users.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications; experience with electronic material requisition systems preferred.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with the capacity to work independently.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain facility credentials/authorization. Note: US Citizenship is required for facility credentials/authorization at this work location.

EDUCATION

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate's degree in Electronics, Communications Technology, or related discipline preferred

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS/ WORKING ENVIRONMENT

  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
  • May be required to work with unfamiliar equipment and adapt to new technologies.
  • Assignments may involve deployment to remote or austere environments with limited amenities.
  • Must be able to work long hours in varying weather conditions, including exposure to hazardous environments.
  • Flexibility to relocate or travel on short notice under adverse conditions
