The Strategic Division (SD) supports high-reliability organizations including Navy Strategic Systems Programs (SSP), Air Force Nuclear Weapons Center, and the Department of Energy (DOE), among others. Our support across our client base is expanding rapidly and encompasses important services, such as data analytics and visualization, threat analysis, risk management, modeling and simulation, cost estimating, earned value management, program management, system engineering, independent evaluation, and High Consequence Event prevention.
The Surety Programs Group (SPG) supports government and private sector management of complex safety, security, and reliability programs for high consequence operations. SPG delivers industry-leading, innovative, and value-added services such as data analytics and visualization, threat analysis, risk management, modeling and simulation, program management, system engineering, independent evaluation, and High Consequence Event prevention to help our clients understand and mitigate mission risks spanning physical, cyber, and human domains. SPG is hiring now for a mid-level Cyber Security Analyst in Alexandria, VA and Washington Navy Yard.
Responsibilities
The Cyber Security Analyst will have the following responsibilities:
  • Provides support in electronic security system design, production, testing, installation, integration, and certification, specifically with an emphasis on Risk Management Framework processes.
  • Designs, develops and implements comprehensive, multi-technology analytical and technical methodologies, tools, and policies/standards meant to protect organizational data assets from unauthorized access, disclosure, modification or destruction.
  • Provides oversight for hardware and software configuration changes and system reliability.
  • Develops system-level engineering requirements from governing policy and performance assessments.
  • Supports collaborative working groups both internally and with customer stakeholders across a portfolio of projects.
  • Develops cyber relevant products and briefs their content to the customer and other stakeholders.
  • Provides cyber specific support to remote sites for testing events, inspections, and certification watersheds; including developing audit and evaluation plans prior to an event and analysis and reporting post travel.
  • Reports to a designated (local) client site work location based upon the needs of the client.

Qualifications
Required Qualifications
  • Ability to work at SPA HQ in Alexandria or Washington Navy Yard area, up to 5 days a week as needed with travel up to 4x per year (~5 days per trip) for job related client support.
  • U.S. Citizen with TOP SECRET clearance, or the ability to obtain and hold clearance while employed with SPA.
  • BA/BS degree in STEM, Computer Science, Cybersecurity, or Information Technology.
  • Four or more years of related work experience such as cyber system architecture and design and IT positions dealing with both day to day operations and minimization of IT system security vulnerability profile.
  • Knowledge of developing briefs and reports for project leadership team review.
  • At least one of the following (or a verifiable equivalent): ISC2 Certified in Cybersecurity (CC), CompTIA Security+, or GIAC Security Essentials (GSEC)

Desired Qualifications:
  • One of the following: ISC2 CISSP, CompTIA CySA+, or ISC2 Certified Authorization Professional (old)/Certified in Governance, Risk and Compliance (new) (CAP/CGRC). If not already held, it is desirable that the candidate have an aspiration to pursue attainment of at least one of these certifications (or equivalent) for professional development within the first two years of employment.
  • Network design experience and/or a certification as a Cisco Certified Support Technician (CCST) (either Cybersecurity or Networking) or CompTIA Network+ is highly desired.
  • A thorough understanding of Department of War Acquisition processes from either having been part of a holistic system procurement process (concept to deployment) or having been professionally trained and credentialed via an acquisition authority such as Warfighting Acquisition University (formerly Defense Acquisition University).

Pay Range Information
At SPA, we strive to deliver a robust total compensation package that will attract and retain top talent. Elements of the compensation package include competitive base pay and variable compensation opportunities. The specific programs and options available to any given employee may vary depending on eligibility factors such as geographic location, date of hire, etc. Please note that the salary information shown below is a general guideline only. Salaries are commensurate with experience and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations. Virginia, Pay Transparency Salary range: USD $90,000.00/Yr. - USD $130,000.00/Yr.
