Position Title: UG Solutions Communications and Command Systems Instructor
Location: Sub-Saharan Africa
Reports To: UG Solutions Global Response Division Training Director
Deployment Timeline: January/February 2026 (Subject to Change)
Employment Type: Contractor / Deployable Instructor
Position Overview
The UG Solutions Communications and Command Systems Instructor will serve as a subject matter expert (SME), delivering advanced instruction on MANET waveform technologies, mesh networking, and integrated C2 platforms. Cadre will lead classroom and field training, mentor host-nation instructors via Train-the-Trainer (T3), and ensure operational proficiency with TrellisWare TW-650/950 radios and Apollo ecosystem integration.
All selected personnel will undergo Apollo system certification at The Swamp (UG Solutions' Advanced Training Facility, North Carolina) as well as receive language familiarization, and cultural preparation.
Duties & Responsibilities
  • Deliver TrellisWare-centric classroom and field instruction on TW-650/950 MANET operations and Apollo mesh topology design.
  • Mentor host-nation instructors on TrellisWare waveform optimization, frequency management, and network troubleshooting.
  • Conduct hands-on system setup and sustainment in austere environments.
  • Provide real-time feedback on TrellisWare firmware updates, Apollo software patches, and system interoperability with partner-force equipment.
  • Coordinate with Civil Affairs/PSYOP for TrellisWare-enabled community information operations and training acceptance.
  • Document TrellisWare network metrics (latency, throughput, node health) and Apollo system feedback for HQ analysis.
Required Qualifications
  • Minimum 3 years of hands-on TrellisWare experience (TW-650/950 deployment, Corvus gateway ops, MANET troubleshooting).
  • Background with documented TrellisWare/Apollo deployments (SOF preferred)
  • Proficiency in radio programming (TrellisWare Manager/TW-Config), IP networking, and ATAK plugin management.
  • Willingness to deploy to Su-Saharan Africa for 60-120-day rotations.
  • Current passport (valid 6+ months beyond departure) and medical clearance.
Preferred Qualifications
  • French Language Proficiency; DLI-certified French 2/2 or higher or demonstrated equivalent.
  • TrellisWare Advanced Operator Certification
  • Graduate of advanced SOF communications or intelligence schools (SONC, TSC, Cyber Enabler, BTOC, TACP).
  • Prior instructional experience (military or civilian).
  • Experience operating within African partner-force environments.
  • Civilian IT/network certifications (CCNA, Security+, etc.)
