Job description

JOB SUMMARY:

· The Procurement Manager is responsible for supporting the company's procurement and subcontract management activities to ensure the acquisition of goods, equipment, materials, and subcontracted services at the best overall value while maintaining the highest standards of quality, safety, compliance, and operational efficiency.

· This position develops and executes procurement and subcontracting strategies, manages strategic supplier and subcontractor relationships, negotiates complex commercial agreements, and partners with Operations, Estimating, Project Controls, and Finance to support successful project execution. The Procurement Manager is responsible for driving continuous improvement, mitigating commercial risk, ensuring contract compliance, and delivering measurable cost savings while supporting the company's long-term business objectives.


TYPICAL DUTIES:

· Develop and execute strategic sourcing and procurement initiatives to ensure the timely acquisition of materials, equipment, services, and subcontracted work while optimizing cost, quality, and schedule.

· Lead the procurement lifecycle, including supplier selection, competitive bidding, negotiations, contract awards, purchase orders, and subcontract administration.

· Manage the full subcontract lifecycle, including prequalification, contract negotiations, change orders, performance monitoring, compliance, and closeout.

· Negotiate commercial agreements and contractual terms to achieve favorable pricing, mitigate risk, and protect the company's interests.

· Monitor supplier and subcontractor performance, resolve commercial issues, and ensure compliance with contractual, safety, insurance, and regulatory requirements.

· Analyze market trends, supplier capabilities, and procurement metrics to identify cost-saving opportunities and improve supply chain performance.

· Develop, implement, and maintain procurement policies, procedures, and best practices while ensuring compliance with company standards and applicable regulations.

· Lead, mentor, and support procurement personnel, while providing guidance and training to project teams on procurement processes and subcontract management.


REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

· Bachelor's Degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

· Minimum of 5 years of progressive procurement, sourcing, contract administration, or subcontract management experience.

· Experience negotiating complex commercial agreements and construction subcontracts.

· Experience supporting industrial construction, EPC, manufacturing, or heavy industrial projects.

· Good knowledge of procurement systems and supplier management software.


PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

· Contract Management experience and/or CPCM Certification.

· PMP Certification is a plus.

· CPP, CIPP, or CSCP.

· Experience with EPC or heavy industrial construction projects.


REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND COMPETENCIES:

· Advanced MS Office Excel, PowerPoint, and Word skills.

· Intermediate Power BI skills.

· Basic Primavera P6 skills.

· Advanced COINS modules Procurement, Subcontracts, and Cost skills

· Knowledge of commercial terms, legal concepts, indemnity provisions, insurance requirements, and commercial risk allocation.

· Experience with supplier qualification, performance management, and vendor development.

· Ability to objectively interpret and analyze data.

· Ability to function in a fast-paced environment.

· Strong leadership capabilities.

· Highly organized and detail-oriented.

· Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.

· Talent in negotiations and networking


WORKING ENVIRONMENT:

· Work is performed primarily indoors, with occasional motor vehicle and/or air travel.


PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

· Manual dexterity and sitting for extended periods of time.

· Frequent standing and walking

· Occasional climbing stairs, bending, stooping, kneeling, reaching, and crouching.

· Visual acuity to read printed and electronic documents.

· Lifting and/or exerting force up to 20 pounds occasionally.

· Occasional driving of motor vehicles.
