Job description

Position is located in the PFPA Pentagon Operations Center (POC). The employee is an expert for non-standard threat responses; required to analyze and assess information regarding chemical, biological, radiological, and nuclear (CBRN) threats within Pentagon, Navy Annex and DoW Leased Facilities. Coordinates with shift personnel, active duty, DoW civilians, & contract staff. Communicates with and provides recommendations and information to the Shift Lead, Senior Watch Officer, and POC Director.Qualifications:
In order to qualify for this position, you must meet the requirements described below.
You may qualify at the GS-11 level, if you fulfill the following qualification requirement:
One year of experience in the same or similar work equivalent to at least the next lower grade level (GS-09) requiring application of the knowledge, skills, and abilities of the position being filled. Candidates for this position must clearly demonstrate in their resume that they possess specialized experience in:
1) applying knowledge of Chemical, Biological, Radiological, and Nuclear (CBRN) emergency response operations, planning, training and execution; and
2) applying knowledge of emergency response, such as National Incident Management System (NIMS) and National Response Framework; and
3) applying knowledge of applicable policies, regulations related to Chemical, Biological, Radiological, and Nuclear (CBRN)/Hazardous materials (HAZMAT) responses and operations.
Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.

ACTIVE DUTY SERVICE MEMBERS: Federal agencies treat active duty service member as veterans, disabled veterans, and preference eligible, when they submit, as part of their application package, a "certification" of active service in lieu of a DD-214, indicating the service member is otherwise eligible and will be discharged or released within 120 days from the date of submission.. Members may be appointed before the effective date of their military retirement/separation if they are on terminal leave.
