Responsibilities

Texas NeuroRehab Center is a specialized treatment facility located ten minutes from downtown Austin on 67 wooded acres. Originally a cattle ranch, the land was purchased in 1943 as part of The Brown Schools and has operated as a medical rehabilitation and behavioral healthcare facility for over 60 years.

Today, Texas NeuroRehab Center provides complex medical and brain and spinal cord injury rehab for ages 13 years and older and neuropsychiatric treatment for youth. The capabilities of the facility as a whole allow for integrated and specialized care for children, adolescents and adults facing difficult challenges.

Texas NeuroRehab Center is internationally known for improving the quality of life for many children; adolescents and adults, and it will continue to provide innovative approaches to neurobehavioral healthcare.

Texas NeuroRehab Center is currently accepting applicants for a Contracting/Financial Counseling Specialist II. This candidate will effectively and efficiently initiates, develops, and maintains Managed Care agreements/contracts through negotiations with regional and national payors. Research market and establish plan for effectively prioritizing future contracts. Demonstrates high level problem solving and conflict resolution skills. Coordinate and interface with Contracting/Financial Counseling Manager to initiate and complete contracts. Counselor II position will collaborate with and educate multiple hospital teams to provide full understanding of contract requirements.

Qualifications

SKILLS KNOWLEDGE AND ABILITIES: Computer literate in word processing and spreadsheets. Types 50 words per minute.

EDUCATION: High school diploma. Preferred bachelor’s degree in health care administration or similar education

EXPERIENCE: 1-3 years’ experience in public relations activities and negotiating/contracting. Prefer previous experience in healthcare setting.

PHYSICAL/GENERAL REQUIREMENTS: Able to sit for four to six hours daily at computer terminal. Ability to use computer terminal keyboard. Ability to hear and speak clearly with customers and employees both face-to-face and over the telephone. Repetitive use of hands and vision to allow for typing, grasping, filing, and manipulating papers.  Occasional lifting of (11-25 pounds). Occasional bending and stooping to reach file cabinets and inventory supplies.  Emotional stability to perform essential job functions and endure.
