To thrive as a Weekend Cattle Rancher, you need practical livestock handling skills, basic animal health knowledge, and some experience or education in agriculture or ranch management. Familiarity with equipment such as tractors, ATVs, fencing tools, and experience using herd management software or recordkeeping systems is valuable. Strong problem-solving, time management, and communication skills help you efficiently address ranch challenges and coordinate with workers or suppliers. These skills are important to ensure animal well-being, operational efficiency, and the overall success of ranch activities with limited time on-site.

Weekend cattle ranch employees often handle tasks like feeding livestock, checking water supplies, repairing fences, and assisting with animal health checks.
