Description

The Archdiocese of Kansas City in Kansas is the Catholic Church in Northeast Kansas: Growing as Disciples of Jesus; Making Disciples for Jesus. The Savior Pastoral Center is seeking to hire a part-time, live-in Building Attendant. This position provides hospitality, security, maintenance and custodial services at the Savior Pastoral Center. This position will average 18-20 hours per week, includes a fully paid spacious one-bedroom apartment, and requires the ability to work evenings, weekends as needed and every other Saturday at the front desk.ย 


Duties and Responsibilities:

Assist with welcoming groups and other overnight guests.

Assist the Pastoral Center office for scheduled evening activities and carries guest access cell phone to be answered when on duty.

Check boiler rooms according to written instructions from Maintenance.

Assist with guests needs while staying at the center.

Inform and communicate with Director, maintenance and housekeeping staff of any concerns/issues.

Complete building walk-through: shut off lights, check restrooms, and ensure doors are locked. Empty all trash, work with housekeeping on scheduled Sundays.

Exhibit a friendly, helpful, and courteous manner when dealing with guests.


Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

Ability to work independently and solve practical problems.

Good communications skills.

Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and communicate with the public and staff.


Qualifications:

High School Diploma or general education degree (GED) required.ย 

Two to four years of maintenance, custodial or security experience preferred.

Experience in basic maintenance knowledge.

Flexibility to work evenings and weekends is required.

Practicing Catholic in good standing is preferred.


Compensation

Hourly pay commensurate with experience

Vacation and sick leave

Fully paid spacious one bedroom, one bath apartment (no pets); utilities, TV, internet, laundry, and parking
