Experience: Minimum 2 years in interventional cardiac cath lab setting

License: Active compact license required

Certifications: ACLS, BLS, CCI RCIS

Must-Have: Diagnostic Cardiac Cath Lab experience Interventional Cardiac Cath Lab experience Cardiac Stent Placement Diagnostic Catheterizations (Adult) IABP Placement/Removal Impella insertion Left heart catheterization Percutaneous Coronary Interventions (PCI) Percutaneous Transluminal Coronary Angioplasty (PTCA) Right heart catheterization Rotablader athrectomy Temporary Pacemaker Ventricular Assist Device Insertion

Description: Candidates are eligible for a travel contract if they have been separated from previous employment for at least 3 months. The unit does not accept first-time travelers. Call is required, typically 6 evenings and one weekend every 6 weeks. Weekend shifts per contract typically include one weekend on standby, with a response time of 30 minutes. The medication system used is Pyxis. The documentation system in use is EPIC, McKesson. Communication follows the SBAR format. The unit consists of a procedure room with 3 cath labs and one hybrid OR. Required skills include accurate monitoring, equipment setup, performing EKG lead placement, and preparing access sites. Recognition of life-threatening arrhythmias is essential. Additional responsibilities include room circulation, maintaining a sterile field, and using vascular closure systems. Professional knowledge includes adherence to isolation precautions. Experience with rapid response teams is preferred. Scrubs are provided by the facility. All units with on-call requirements necessitate a 30-minute response time when called. Patient age groups include adults and geriatrics. The unit typically services a daily census of 17 patients. The facility has 4 procedure rooms available. Interdisciplinary support includes respiratory services, interpretation services, radiology, social services, and pharmacy. The patient diagnoses are varied and may include a wide range of cardiac conditions. The unit is equipped with a Sterotaxis lab, although it is not utilized often.
