Job Summary

The Category Manager (Professional Services) is part of a team to support Global Category Manager/s in one or more categories. The role holder has the responsibility to partner with the Global Category Manager to reach the defined category objectives. The Category Manager will be responsible for managing relevant suppliers for the assigned categories to drive the creation of value for Fresenius Kabi Global Procurement (GP) and reach organization’s objectives. This role does not have any direct reports.

  • This position requires working onsite 3 days per week at our U.S. headquarters in Lake Zurich, IL.
  • This position does not offer visa sponsorship either now or in the future.
  • Salary Range: $135,000-145,000.
  • Position is eligible to participate in an annual bonus plan with a target of 10% of the base salary.
  • Final pay determinations will depend on various factors, including, but not limited to experience level, education, knowledge, skills, and abilities.

Responsibilities
  • Lead, create, and support alignment for overall Global Procurement (GP) strategy and category strategy to operate with clear focus.
  • Support for alignment of overall GP strategy & category strategy to operate with clear focus.
  • Responsible for representation of procurement towards external business partners and higher management, building and maintaining effective relationships between procurement and internal business partners.
  • Support Global Category Manager conducting profound spend analysis and supplier portfolio.
  • Consult Global Category Manager by setting up mid and long-term planning for a category strategy in alignment with business partners.
  • Give input for developing and implementing category strategies for assigned categories (according to the defined P2S process).
  • Support the preparation of the strategic sourcing approach.
  • Consult the Global Category Manager regarding sourcing execution and evaluation process, tenders, and negotiations based on value limits including contract management and supplier awarding.
  • Support Sourcing Specialists for category specific sourcing activities.
  • Help to develop strategic suppliers for assigned categories.
  • Assist in driving supplier evaluation and development actions according to performance KPIs.
  • Consult Global Category Manager for disqualification of global/regional suppliers for assigned categories.
Job Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree, preferably in Business Management or Engineering
  • 8+ years of procurement experience
  • Proficient understanding of the Source-to-Contract process
  • In-depth knowledge of assigned category
  • Experience with the application of procurement standards (Procurement policies, Standard Operating Procedures, etc.)
  • Pharma or comparable industry experience a plus
  • Proficient user in Microsoft Office (MS Word, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint)
  • Proficient user in Sourcing Tool e.g. SAP Ariba Sourcing, Supplier Management
  • Basic user SAP ERP (SAP MM, SAP SRM, SAP FI, SAP Suite)
