The Installation Technician II will install, test, troubleshoot and repair all aspects of our security systems including access control, Intercom, phone, and IP video systems at customer sites. To that end, the Lead Technician interacts directly with the client, client representatives, other contractors and Kastle personnel to ensure a successful service and repair solutions. The Lead Technician will ensure that service orders are completed accurately and on time, and that these services meet or exceed client expectations.


Responsibilities
  • Installs, tests, and troubleshoots new CCTV, access control, and security systems.
  • Ensures that systems are installed properly and on time in accordance with Kastle's procedures and quality control standards.
  • Provides feedback and information to identify any potential barriers to timely execution of the project, such as construction delays or changes.
  • Communicates with managers and Project Manager to resolve discrepancies or issues.
  • Provides regular progress updates to all stakeholders.
  • Provides accurate documentation for completed work.
  • Responsible for providing proper documentation for inventory control and for maintaining proper inventory for vehicles and projects. Must be available to perform end of year and interim inventory counts.
  • Maintains assigned company-owned vehicles, tools, equipment, and individual tool issue.
  • Responsible for the behavior and performance of assigned team members.
  • Coaches assigned team members on the Kastle installation procedures and quality control standards. Reports any issues to the department Managers.
  • Maintains and protects building keys to customer buildings.
  • Communicates with customers, customer representatives, contractors and Kastle staff as necessary to install and test equipment.
  • Stays up to date and knowledgeable in Kastle services, technology as well as internal processes and procedures.

Qualifications
  • 5+ years’ successful experience installing access control, video systems or other related electronic systems.
  • Technical school certificate a plus but not required.
  • Mechanical aptitude and thorough knowledge of hand and power tools.
  • Strong electronics knowledge/background (AC/DC theory, series and parallel circuits, open/close loops) and ability and knowledge to use digital volt meters.
  • Knowledge of Serial Communication (RS232, RS485).
  • Basic knowledge of IP, Ethernet, and networking protocol and Cat5 technologies.
  • Professional construction experience and knowledge of door hardware, electric and mechanical locking devices and building codes pertaining to construction, fire, and electrical systems.

The anticipated base salary range for this position is $60,000-$70,000 annually, depending on experience, skills, education, and other job-related factors. Actual offers are determined individually based on the candidate's qualifications and internal equity considerations. Kastle Systems (and its affiliate, i2G) offers a competitive benefits package, which may include medical, dental, and vision coverage, 401(k) with company match, paid time off, and other benefits, depending on position and location.
