To thrive as a Casting Director, you need a keen eye for talent, deep knowledge of acting and storytelling, and experience in film, television, or theater casting, often supported by a degree in film, theater, or a related field. Familiarity with casting software like Cast It, Breakdown Services, and knowledge of union regulations (e.g., SAG-AFTRA) are essential. These skills ensure the right talent is selected efficiently, contributing to the overall success and authenticity of a production.
