Job description

In this role, youโ€™ll collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to provide comprehensive OB/GYN services in a thriving outpatient clinic and hospital setting. You will be responsible for patient assessment, diagnosis, surgical and procedural care, deliveries, and postpartum support, while contributing to an exceptional patient experience.
Cass Health delivers approximately 150 babies annually, providing personalized care in a modern, family-centered environment. The OB delivering team includes one additional OB/GYN physician and two family medicine physicians with OB (FPOB) training, ensuring robust call coverage and a collaborative atmosphere.
In 2023, Cass Health was named a Rural Center of Excellence for our OB care by the Governor of Iowa. Over the past few years, Cass Health has significantly expanded its maternal health services across southwest Iowa through strategic collaborations with Adair County Health System, Montgomery County Hospital, and CHI Corning Hospital. These partnerships enable local prenatal and postnatal care for residents in Adair, Adams, and Montgomery Counties, with Cass Health serving as the regional hub for comprehensive maternity care and deliveries.
Cass Health has also implemented an OB Patient Navigation Program, which helps expectant mothers navigate the healthcare system and overcome barriers related to transportation, financial hardship, and social determinants of health. We work closely with our public health partners to reduce maternal health disparities and improve community outcomes.
Our modern Labor, Delivery, Recovery, and Postpartum (LDRP) suites provide a warm, family-centered environment where patients receive continuity of care in the same comfortable room throughout their stay. Providers benefit from a well-supported environment that emphasizes safety, quality, and patient satisfaction.
Qualifications:

  • MD or DO from an accredited medical school.
  • Board-certified or board-eligible in Obstetrics and Gynecology.
  • Licensed or eligible for licensure to practice in Iowa.
  • Strong commitment to evidence-based, patient-centered care and rural health service.
Why Cass Health?
Cass Health is a thriving rural health system in southwest Iowa, proudly serving approximately 40,000 unique patients each year. With an annual gross revenue of $145 million, we employ nearly 500 team members, more than 80 providers, and over 100 active volunteersโ€”making us the largest employer in Cass County and one of the largest Critical Access Hospitals in Iowa.
Cass Health brings together well-established local healthcare providers to create one unified, patient-centered health system. We support more than 150,000 outpatient encounters annually across our hospital and four rural health clinics, and we maintain a robust inpatient census with approximately 2,500 inpatient days each year. Our services include comprehensive primary care, surgery, obstetrics, cardiology, orthopedics, oncology, ENT, gastroenterology, urology, ophthalmology, and more.
Since 2021, we have been recognized as a Top 20 Critical Access Hospital by the National Rural Health Association, and weโ€™ve ranked among the Top 100 Critical Access Hospitals every year since 2017. Weโ€™re also a Top Iowa Workplace for over a decade.
At Cass Health, youโ€™ll find a supportive environment where providers can thrive personally and professionally. We are committed to becoming the best rural hospital in America by delivering superior experiences to our patients, families, and communities.
Our comprehensive provider benefits include:
  • Competitive compensation with RVU-based bonus potential
  • Recruitment incentive & sign-on bonuses
  • Relocation assistance
  • Generous paid time off and CME allowance
  • Malpractice coverage with tail
  • IPERS and 457b/401a retirement programs
