Job description

Job Summary

Under supervision of the Shift Supervisor, the Casino Porter will perform semi-skilled and skilled cleaning and housekeeping of the casino, including the entertainment room, dining areas, and administrative offices. The Casino Porter is responsible for cleaning ashtrays and other receptacles in the table games and slot/video machine areas of the casino, inspecting areas of public and private use, and reporting conditions of the facility both verbally and in writing to supervisors.

Cleans all casino areas including but not exclusively slot machines, machine bases, table games equipment, OTB, and other casino areas as assigned.Vacuums carpets. Damp/dust mops and sweeps floors. Cleans/moves furniture and light fixtures.Cleans lobbies, lounges, restaurants, corridors, elevators, stairways and office areas. Dusts furniture, washes walls, ceilings and woodwork. Washes windows, door panels, and windowsills. Responsible for handling clean-up of blood borne pathogen/bio-hazardous materials, when required.Cleans restrooms, which includes toilets, urinals, sinks, showers, mirrors, counters and floors.Replenishes paper products in restrooms as necessary.Empties trash and carries trash to central deposit sites.Transports and sorts trash from recyclable materials and deposits in appropriate disposal sites.Determines needed supplies and draws supplies as identified for cleaning assignment.Handles cleaning chemicals as directed using proper formulas for safe usage. Refrains from depositing harmful products into sewage system.Establishes and maintains positive and cooperative working relationship with other casino team members and guests.Maintains knowledge of and effectively promotes company services, guest promotions, and players' club program.Ensures that a clean, safe, hazard-free work environment is maintained.Adheres to all company and department policies, procedures, and standard operating guidelines.Performs any other duties as assignedDoes not provide supervision to others.Must be 21 years or older.Must be able to be certified in blood borne pathogens/bio-hazardous material clean-up (training will be provided).One month related experience or training.Good verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills.Dependable and ability to work without supervision.Ability work in a fast-paced, deadline oriented environment.Ability to work various shifts, days, nights, or weekends.
