Pay Rate: $21.00 an hour
SUMMARY: To paint, stain, varnish, sand, seal, patch and maintain all casino complexes. Responsible for a high level of guest service as described in your departments guest service standards.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Mix paint, paint, prime, varnish, stain and sand all types of surfaces
  • Tape and mud sheetrock
  • Perform prep work, patch, repair and order the correct quantity of materials for each job
  • Monitor inventory and inform supervisor when inventory levels reach reorder point
  • Store and clean all painting materials safely
  • Maintain records of paint colors, samples, charts, and the like

KNOWLEDGE AND CERTIFICATION, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
Knowledge and Certification
Required:
  • Proven knowledge of paint materials and application processes
  • 2 years training or apprenticeship in painting field
  • 1 year experience as a painter and sheetrock taper

Skills
Required:
  • Accurate and detail-oriented
  • Highly organized and ability to adapt quickly to changing priorities

Abilities
Required:
  • Ability to work fast and efficiently
  • Ability to independently complete multiple tasks in a professional manner
  • Ability to interact with guests, coworkers and management in a professional and courteous manner
  • Ability to maintain high confidentiality
  • Ability to follow established dress code policies and practice good personal hygiene

REQUIRED TRAINING
  • Treasure Island guest service training
  • Bloodborne Pathogens training
  • Any position-related training as determined by department manager

PHYSICAL DEMANDS
  • Must be able to walk and / or stand for periods of up to 8 hours
  • Must have a good sense of balance, and be able to bend and kneel
  • Must be able to push, pull and grasp objects routinely
  • Must be able to climb a ladder
  • Must have the ability to independently lift 25+ pounds regularly
  • Must have manual dexterity necessary to manipulate equipment
  • Must be able to perform repetitive hand and wrist motions
  • Must be able to work at high elevations regularly
  • Must have good eye hand coordination

WORKING ENVIRONMENT
  • Work is performed throughout the entire property (inside and outdoors) and may include excessive noise, such as power tools, dust and fumes from paints, varnishes, stains and the like, flashing lights, frequent loud noises and cigarette smoke
  • Must be able to work in cramped, tight quarters
  • Occasionally overtime may be required
  • Must be willing to work a flexible schedule including all shifts, weekends and holidays
