 Job Summary
Ellis Home & Garden on Airline Dr. in Bossier City, LA is now accepting applications for a FT Lead Front-End Cashier Manager. We are seeking an efficient Lead Front-End Cashier Manager to oversee daily checkout operations. You will manage frontline cashiers, optimize customer service, and ensure accurate financial balancing. Your goal is to minimize wait times while maintaining a friendly, professional store environment. Ellis Home & Garden is a family-owned and operated business that offers flexible scheduling, a family-oriented atmosphere, and a great working environment.
Responsibilities and Duties 
  • Supervise: train, and mentor a team of 8-10 front-end cashiers. 
  • Manage Cash: Oversee cash drawer assignments, vault drops, and daily reconciliation. 
  • Resolve Escalations: Handle customer complaints and returns. 
  • Optimize Workflow: Monitor front-end traffic to adjust staffing levels dynamically during peak hours. 
  • Enforce Policy: Ensure strict compliance with store policies and safety protocols.
  • Track Performance: Conduct regular performance reviews and implement speed-of-service improvements. 

Qualifications and Skills
  • Minimum 2 years of retail supervisory or front-end management experience
  • Proven proficiency in cash handling, POS systems and basic accounting skills
  • Computer proficiency required
  • Strong ability to lead and motivate team members, delegate tasks and resolve internal conflicts.
  • Clear verbal and written communication skills to interact with customers and upper management.
  • Flexible availability required; including evenings, weekends and holidays.
  • Able to stand for extended periods of time
  • Able to lift 30lbs. +/- 
  • High School Diploma or GED required
  • Some college preferred
  • Retail point of sale experience preferred
  • Excellent Customer Service skills
  • Must be 18 years of age
Pay starting $13.00 per hour; dependent upon experience
