What is cash moving?

Cash moving refers to the secure transportation and handling of large sums of cash, typically for banks, businesses, or ATMs. Professionals in this field, often called cash-in-transit (CIT) personnel, are responsible for collecting, delivering, and safeguarding money during transit. They use armored vehicles, follow strict security protocols, and may work with law enforcement to prevent theft or loss. This job requires attention to detail, trustworthiness, and sometimes specialized training or licensing.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a cash moving professional, and why are they important?

To thrive as a Cash-in-Transit (CIT) Security Officer, you need a solid understanding of security protocols, situational awareness, and a valid security license or certification. Job description

Cash Depot is the largest independent provider in the United States specializing in retail cash management, consumer financial services, ATM solutions, and air/vac systems. An award-winning provider of financial technology, equipment, and services since 1983, we are supported by more than 270 operational employees and 160 nationwide service technicians. Our team is dedicated to meeting our partners’ needs through top-rated customer service, innovative technology and applications, durable equipment, and dependable on-site maintenance.

Join the Cash Depot Family

At Cash Depot, you're not just joining a company, you're becoming part of a family.

As a nationwide leader in ATM management and financial transaction processing, we help businesses and financial institutions keep cash flowing efficiently across the country. Behind every successful ATM network is a team of professionals who ensure machines stay funded, customers stay satisfied, and operations run smoothly.

We're looking for a detail-oriented, analytical professional who enjoys solving problems, working with data, and making a direct impact on business operations.

What We Offer

  • Competitive pay
  • Profit Sharing Bonus Program
  • Paid training and professional development
  • Comprehensive medical, dental, and vision benefits
  • Company-paid Life Insurance
  • Company-paid Short-Term Disability (STD)
  • 401(k) with company match
  • Paid time off and paid holidays
  • Advancement opportunities
  • Stable, growing organization

About the Role

As a Cash Management Specialist, you'll play a key role in keeping Cash Depot's ATM network funded, operational, and running efficiently. This position combines cash management, analytics, logistics, problem-solving, and operational coordination in a fast-paced environment where your decisions directly impact ATM uptime, customer satisfaction, and company performance.

You'll use data to forecast cash needs, coordinate cash movements with banking and armored carrier partners, and ensure the right amount of cash gets to the right location at the right time. You'll also work closely with field teams and internal departments to coordinate routes, replenishments, installations, and other cash-related logistics.

This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys working with data while also being involved in the day-to-day operations behind it. You'll have the opportunity to solve problems, improve processes, and help shape how Cash Management operates as the business grows.

What You'll Do

  • Analyze ATM cash activity and transaction trends to forecast funding needs.
  • Monitor cash levels and proactively prevent potential cash outages.
  • Plan and place cash orders based on forecasts, transaction activity, and operational needs.
  • Coordinate regular and emergency cash replenishments.
  • Manage the logistics of moving cash between banks, branches, armored carriers, field teams, and ATM locations.
  • Coordinate cash routes, delivery schedules, and time-sensitive shipments.
  • Work closely with banks, armored carriers, dispatch teams, field technicians, and internal departments to resolve issues.
  • Support ATM installations, conversions, and cash loading schedules.
  • Maintain accurate data, reporting, and operational documentation.
  • Monitor key performance metrics and identify trends, risks, and opportunities.
  • Identify ways to improve processes, efficiency, and operational controls.
  • Take ownership of issues from identification through resolution.

What Makes This Role Unique

This isn't simply a reporting or cash-ordering role. You'll be connecting data, cash, people, and logistics to keep a large ATM network operating successfully.

You'll gain experience across cash management, logistics, operations, analytics, and process improvement, with the opportunity to make a meaningful impact on the business every day.

What We're Looking For

  • High school diploma or GED required; Associate's degree in Accounting or Finance preferred.
  • 2+ years of accounting, finance, banking, operations, or related experience preferred.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building abilities.
  • Ability to prioritize multiple tasks and work with a sense of urgency.
  • Self-motivated team player who thrives in a fast-paced environment.

Why Cash Depot?

This is more than a data-entry or accounting role. It's an opportunity to become a key contributor to a nationwide cash management operation, gain exposure to banking and financial operations, and build a long-term career with a company that values teamwork, innovation, and professional growth.

Join Cash Depot and help keep cash moving across America.
