Akash Management is a leading restaurant operating company with about 200 locations across five franchised restaurant brands.  The Company is looking to continue to build its senior support team with an experienced Accounting Manager who has a track record of success in a face-paced, roll-up-your-sleeves environment.  The ideal candidate is a humble, organized, problem-solving, detail-oriented team player with relevant accounting and cash management experience.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS:

·         BA in Accounting/Business Administration or equivalent is preferred

·         College Course work and/or a minimum of 7+ years relevant work experience will be considered

·         Ability to work in a fast paced and challenging environment

·         Communication skills essential with the ability to build both internal and external business relationships

·         Treasury / banking / cash management experience

ESSENTIAL DUTIES:

·         Be a leader in the accounting department, working with outsourced 3rd party accounting team to produce timely and accurate monthly, quarterly and year-end financial statements

·         Oversee intercompany accounting entries

·         Manage cash, banking and treasury functions

·         Assist with tax reporting and compliance

·         Manage the accounts payable and staff accounting team

·         Coach, mentor and lead team to meet and /or exceed monthly goals

·         Ability to effectively collaborate across multifunctional teams

·         Responds timely and professionally to requests for information both internally and externally

·         Regular attendance at company meetings when requested and involvement and interaction in the meetings

·         Keep management informed of all activities, including timely preparation of reports

·         Assist in writing, developing, and implementing new procedures to improve the accounting department

·         Ability to build both internal and external business customer, vendor, and teammates relationships

·         See bills and invoices are paid timely and accurately

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES & ACCOUNTABILITIES:

Management

·         Monitor cash balances and cash forecasts

·         Maintain a documented system of accounting policies and procedures

·         Manage outsourced functions

·         Develop financial and tax strategies and liaison with CPA

·         Oversee accounting transactions

·         Ensure that accounts payable are paid in a timely manner

·         Ensure that all reasonable discounts are taken on accounts payable

·         Ensure that periodic bank reconciliations are completed

·         Ensure that required debt payments are made on a timely basis

·         Maintain the chart of accounts

·         Maintain an orderly accounting filing system

·         Maintain a system of controls over accounting transactions

·         Prepare and file sales tax returns

·         Prepare and file annual 1099 tax returns

Reporting

·         Issue timely and complete financial statements

·         Assist with the preparation of quarterly and annual reporting

·         Provide financial analyses as needed

Compliance

·         Coordinate the provision of information to external auditors for any financial annual audits

·         Monitor debt levels and compliance with debt covenants

·         Comply with local, state, and federal government reporting requirements and tax filings
