Job description

We are seeking a Vocational Specialist to join our team and help individuals with disabilities, mental health, substance use disorders and/or other barriers to employment successfully reenter the workforce. The Vocational Specialist will assess patient needs, provide career counseling, job readiness training, and help match patients with competitive employment opportunities.

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct vocational assessments to evaluate patients' skills, interests, and barriers to employment.
  • Collaborate with patients to develop individual vocational rehabilitation plans that align with their career goals and needs.
  • Assist patients in finding suitable job opportunities.
  • Provide one-on-one counseling and guidance to patients on resume writing, interviewing skills, job search strategies, and workplace adjustments.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with employers to create job opportunities for patients.
  • Offer ongoing support to patients and employers to ensure successful job placement and retention.
  • Maintain accurate patient records, case notes, and reports in accordance with organizational and regulatory requirements.
  • Work with other service providers, social workers, healthcare professionals, and community organizations to support patient success.

Requirements:

  • AA required; BS/BA degree in vocational rehabilitation, Social Work, Psychology, Human Services, or related field strongly preferred.
  • Experience in sales a plus.  
  • Valid Ohio driver’s license.  Will transport patients in own vehicle.  Must have proof of current auto insurance coverage and meet driving record requirements.
