Job Summary

The Golf Cart Technician is responsible for the maintenance, repair, and general upkeep of the golf carts at the club. This role ensures that carts are operational, safe, clean, and well-maintained for members and guests. In addition to managing golf cart-related duties, the Golf Cart Technician will assist the golf operations team as needed, providing general support in daily activities and events.

Reporting Structure

  • Reports to the Supervisor Outside Services

Day to Day

  • Perform routine maintenance, inspections, and repairs on golf carts to ensure they are in safe working order.

  • Troubleshoot mechanical and electrical issues with golf carts, including battery replacements, tire changes, and brake adjustments.

  • Clean and wash carts regularly, ensuring they are presentable and ready for member use.

  • Keep detailed maintenance logs and ensure compliance with safety standards and manufacturer recommendations.

  • Order and maintain an inventory of parts and supplies needed for golf cart repairs.

  • Manage the daily staging, charging, and storage of the golf cart fleet.

  • Coordinate the rotation and usage of carts to ensure even wear and prevent overuse.

  • Ensure golf carts are prepared and positioned for events, tournaments, and daily play, including special requests from members/guests.

  • Assist with golf course set-up and break-down for tournaments and events, including cart staging and coordination.

  • Help with the movement of golf bags, equipment, and supplies as required by the golf operations team.

  • Provide excellent customer service to members and guests, assisting with golf cart-related questions or issues and supporting the overall golf experience.

  • Collaborate with the Golf Operations team on projects or tasks as needed.

  • Provide additional assistance to the golf operations team during peak times, busy periods, or special events, such as setting up driving ranges or assisting with member services.

  • Report any unsafe conditions or equipment malfunctions to the Supervisor Outside Services.

  • Maintain a clean and organized workspace, adhering to the club's safety protocols.

Additional Duties

  • Due to the dynamic nature of the club, employees are expected to assist others as needed and take on additional tasks as assigned by management.

  • Follow all company, club, and department policies, procedures, and instructions.

  • Maintain a high level of professionalism and a commitment to excellence in interactions with members, colleagues, and staff.

  • Follow safe working practices, ensuring compliance with safety guidelines and encouraging others to do the same.

  • Take the initiative in personal and professional growth and maintain any required certifications relevant to your role.

  • Address and resolve challenges using available resources, working with regional and corporate teams to support club operations.

  • Attend daily briefings and actively engage in required activities to stay informed and contribute to the team's success.

About You

Preferred

  • High school diploma or equivalent.

  • Previous experience in mechanical maintenance, vehicle repair, or a related field.

  • Experience working in golf course operations or hospitality is a plus.

  • Strong knowledge of golf rules, etiquette, and course management.

  • Basic mechanical skills with the ability to perform repairs and maintenance on golf carts.

  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining high standards of cleanliness and safety.

  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work under pressure.

  • Customer service-oriented, with a commitment to delivering an outstanding experience for club members and guests.

Physical Requirements

  • Primarily outdoors with frequent exposure to extreme hot or cold temperatures and humidity.

  • Sitting, standing, walking, climbing/ladders, squatting/kneeling, reaching, grasping, pushing/pulling, twisting/bending, lifting/carrying up to 100 lbs., talking, hearing, and seeing.

Work Schedule

  • Attendance requirements for this position as outlined on the weekly schedule.

  • Additional hours are required to meet deadlines of the position, including weekends and/or holidays.
