POSITION SUMMARY

The Solar Carport Steel Lead team member will provide support to the Foreman and the crew, overseeing phases or steps of the job. The Solar Carport Steel Lead may be tasked with training another team member on a step or steps of the job and will be expected to assume responsibility for various aspects of the job as assigned by the Foreman or Construction Manager. The Solar Carport Steel Lead may also be asked to assume a safety or compliance component of the job. Overall, the Solar Carport Steel Lead will be a lead by example team member that has shown their abilities, knowledge and foresight to help the team excel on every job site.


REPORTING RELATIONSHIPS:

Works under direction of the Transform Energyโ€™s Construction Manager and the Foreman of the team they are assigned. As an โ€œat willโ€ employee, employment may be terminated at any time by the employee or employer with or without notice and with or without cause.


QUANTIFIABLE DIMENSIONS:

Provides day-to-day support to the team and Foreman to ensure jobs are completed timely, efficiently and safely, meeting quality standards set by Transform Energy.


WORKING RELATIONSHIPS/CONTACTS:

Frequent contact with Transform Energy team members, the Construction Manager, Foreman, external customers and vendors.


PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • Install solar systems and associated electrical equipment
  • Follow safe working practices are always followed on the job site
  • Support the Foreman and crew to assure the successful completion of systems
  • Complete all work efficiently and to a high-quality standard
  • Layout and assembly of solar modules/array and mounting hardware
  • Mechanical/structural mounting of racking, modules and electrical equipment
  • Electrical wiring of solar array/system (AC and DC)
  • Operate machinery
  • Document completion of installation
  • Clean-up of job site
  • Ensure outstanding customer service standard is met
  • Attend mandatory training sessions on new products, installation methodology, and safety
  • Additional duties required as needed


Requirements:

MINIMUM POSITION REQUIREMENTS

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Experience that shows progressive growth and responsibility.
  • 3 yearsโ€™ project installation experience, preferably commercial.
  • Electrical experience; Mechanical Installation experience.
  • Professional appearance.
  • Strong customer service.
  • Must have a strong work ethic and be a person of integrity.
  • Problem solver, and a can-do attitude.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Must have outstanding ability to manage, motivate others.
  • Experience in reading and interpreting blueprint drawing and specifications.
  • Travel required.
  • Valid driver's license and successful completion of background check.

Education:

High school diploma or GED required.


Experience:

The individual selected must have a minimum of 3 yearsโ€™ experience in Solar, Roofing or Electrical, depending on the position. Commercial installation experience desired. Experience reading and interpreting plan sets and electrical experience is desired.


Physical Requirements and Working Conditions

Regularly required to talk or hear. The employee is required to stand, walk, sit, use hands to manipulate, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; and taste or smell. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 75 pounds and be able to move equipment and/or materials while climbing. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, and depth perception.


Working Environment

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts, high voltage electric and outside weather conditions. The employee is occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions; high, precarious places; fumes or airborne particles; and vibration. The noise level in the work environment is moderately loud.
