Job description

The New Construction General Laborer provides essential hands-on support across multiple trades, ensuring the project moves forward safely and efficiently. The ideal candidate has a strong foundational knowledge of commercial construction practices, proficiency with a wide range of hand and power tools, and the physical stamina required to handle demanding on-site tasks. In this role, you will perform physical tasks across active job sites, assist skilled tradespeople (such as carpenters, masons, and electricians), set up and dismantle equipment, and ensure a clean, safe work environment.
Job Responsibilities
  • Material Logistics: Assist with receiving, staging, and distributing trade materials to designated floors and room locations.
  • Site Safety & Cleanup: Maintain a clean, hazard-free workspace across active floors, manage trash removal, and support overall site safety upkeep.
  • Formwork & Prep: Assist with the setup and assembly of concrete formwork and general site preparation.
  • Quality & Measurement: Take accurate measurements and assist with the verification of completed trade work against project guidelines.
  • Tool & Equipment Upkeep: Perform routine maintenance and upkeep on power tools and site equipment to ensure they are safe and operational.
  • Trade Support: Assist carpenters, masons, painters, and other skilled workers with measuring, holding material, or operating tools as needed.
  • Tool & Equipment Operation: Safely operate basic hand and power tools (jackhammers, drills, saws, compactors, pressure washers) under supervision.

  • Minimum 1 year of experience in construction or general manual labor is required.
  • Ability to perform heavy manual labor in outdoor weather conditions (heat, cold, rain). Must be able to lift up to 50-75 lbs and stand, bend, kneel, or climb throughout the shift with or without reasonable accommodations.
  • Familiarity with basic power tools and hand tools.
  • Strong work ethic, punctual, and reliable transportation to job sites.
  • Ability to follow verbal instructions from site supervisors and communicate effectively with team members.
  • Forklift experience a plus.
