Job description

Carpenter

Responsible for skilled carpentry, finish work, and property-wide maintenance repairs, bringing a high level of craftsmanship and attention to detail suited to a luxury resort environment.

Pay Range: $30.00 -$35.00

Responsibilities:

  • Perform skilled carpentry work including framing, trim, cabinetry, door and window repair, and custom finish carpentry throughout guest rooms, meeting rooms, and public spaces
  • Execute fine finish work such as staining, sealing, and detailed touch-up — to luxury property standards
  • Fabricate, repair, and install furniture, millwork, and built-ins, ensuring seamless fit, finish, and function
  • Diagnose and repair structural wood elements, flooring, decking, and trim with precision and durability in mind
  • Inspect and repair grout, caulking, and finish carpentry details to maintain a flawless guest-facing appearance
  • Perform scheduled preventative maintenance and on-the-spot repairs, prioritizing craftsmanship and attention to detail
  • Record equipment temperatures and report any readings out of range
  • Maintain, repair, and finish all guest rooms and property spaces in accordance with preventative maintenance procedures and luxury property standards
  • Mentor and provide guidance to junior maintenance staff on carpentry best practices
  • Report any serious maintenance problems, unusual findings, or safety hazards immediately to the manager/supervisor

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 5 years of professional carpentry experience required; experience in luxury hospitality, high-end residential, or similar premium environments strongly preferred
  • Demonstrated attention to detail and commitment to high-quality finish work
  • Proficiency with hand and power tools, and knowledge of framing, trim, cabinetry, and finish carpentry techniques
  • Follow all company safety and security policies and procedures
  • Report accidents, injuries, and unsafe work conditions to manager and complete safety training and certifications
  • Follow all company policies and procedures, ensure uniform and personal appearance are clean and professional, maintain confidentiality of proprietary information, and protect company assets
  • Welcome and acknowledge all guests according to company standards and anticipate and address guests' service needs
  • Develop and maintain positive working relationships with others, and support team to reach common goals
  • Ensure adherence to quality expectations and standards
  • Reach overhead and below the knees, including bending, twisting, pulling, and stooping
  • Move, lift, carry, push, pull, and place objects weighing less than or equal to 50 pounds without assistance
  • Assist with moving, lifting, carrying, and placing of objects weighing in excess of 50 pounds
  • Stand, sit, or walk for an extended period of time or for an entire work shift
  • Perform other reasonable job duties as requested
