THE POSITION:

The Warehouse Loading Assistant is a full time non-exempt position that plays a vital role in ensuring the smooth and efficient movement of cargo within the warehouse. This position reports to the Warehouse Manager(s) and supports the logistics team by handling the physical loading and unloading of goods, verifying shipment accuracy, and maintaining a clean and safe work environment. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, physically capable, and thrives in a fast-paced, team-driven setting.

JOB DESCRIPTION

  • Load and unload cargo from trucks, containers, and pallets using manual or powered equipment (e.g., pallet jacks, forklifts if certified).
  • Verify shipment contents against documentation (e.g., bills of lading, packing lists).
  • Assist in staging and organizing outbound shipments for dispatch.
  • Report damaged or missing items to supervisors immediately.
  • Maintain cleanliness and safety of loading areas and warehouse aisles.
  • Follow all safety protocols, including the use of PPE and proper lifting techniques.
  • Support inventory control by labeling, scanning, and tracking items as needed.
  • Collaborate with warehouse team members to meet daily operational goals.

**To load and unload the products results in repeated bending, stretching, twisting, and heavy lifting as well standing for 3 hours to up to 8 hours a day or more when overtime is necessary. Selected individuals are responsible for driving the forklifts around the lot and loading and unloading the products into and out of carrier containers. Daily accuracy of products loaded and unloaded is necessary for inventory control and accountability. The individual is exposed to warm temperatures and a dusty, loud environment. Driving electric and gas forklifts and maneuvering heavy equipment using hand trucks, pallet jacks, etc. **

SKILLS

ยท Strength to lift 60 lbs of merchandise and push/pull up to 300lbs using mechanical aids, such as hand trucks, barrel dollies, pallet jacks, etc.

ยท Agility to bend to floor-level shelves and reach to upper shelves with use of stool or ladder

ยท Stamina to stand and walk for entire work shift.
