We are currently seeking an experienced Registered Nurse (RN) to become the Assistant Director of Nursing/Staff Development Coordinator to join our team of dedicated health care professionals.

This position will provide clinical and organizational leadership and support to our Director of Nursing. The ideal candidate will have at least one year of supervisory experience in long-term care, be compassionate and caring, manage multiple priorities, work flexible hours, and motivate staff.


Responsibilities include:

• Supports the achievement of regulatory compliance with requirements for Medicare/Medicaid recipients; monitoring and reporting on issues identified.
• Ensures that staff are properly oriented and regularly in-serviced.
• Ensures frequent communication with residents and their loved ones to keep them informed and involved in their care.
• Ensures quality nursing care by observing/enforcing safe and appropriate nursing procedures, counseling nursing staff and implementing appropriate corrective action, giving on-going feedback about job performance, and providing input to the Director of Nursing for annual performance reviews of nursing team members.
• Ensures that organization expectations, as well as statutory and regulatory requirements, are met by reviewing changes in Medicare/Medicaid and regulations, assessing training needs of the staff, ensures compliance of nursing staff with new and current regulations by chart reviews, counseling, and rounding.
• Updates standards of practice, quality assurance, and infection control knowledge by keeping informed of current and emerging regulatory requirements and clinical approaches.
• Supports resident and team members’ well-being by working with the infection control preventionist to implement appropriate antibiotic stewardship programming and infection control and prevention guidelines and surveillance.
• Ensures continuity of care and discharge planning by coordinating the transmission of needed information between providers, nursing staff, medical records, and social services; attends discharge planning and care planning meetings as needed.
• Participates in 24/7 on call/weekend rotation to ensure appropriate RN coverage and takes assignments in resident care as needed.
