About the Team
The Care Van Transportation team is an important component of the continuum of care for our patients. The team consists of 8 drivers and a Care Van department coordinator. Specializing in non-emergent medical transportation, we service much of central Minnesota transporting patients and care givers to and from medical appointments providing round trip and one-way transportation.
Mission for Position
The Care Van Drivers provide safe and reliable transportation allowing patients in our communities to access their healthcare providers, helping empower the health and wellbeing for our patients.
Duties & Responsibilities
  • Provide safe and reliable transportation to and from non-emergency medical appointments.
  • Drivers are responsible for:
    • Obeying all traffic laws.
    • Loading and unloading patients from their residence to helping them check into their medical appointments.
    • Assisting patients with canes, walkers and wheelchairs.
    • Maintaining trip documentation for each ride.
    • Completing a daily vehicle inspection checklist.
  • Drivers attend all required training activities.
  • Drivers must stay neat, well-groomed and follow dress code standards.
  • Coordinate and schedule rides via email and telephone.
  • Proficient in computer applications.
  • Participate in quality/process improvement projects and voice concerns about safety to the Director of Retail Services immediately.

Position Type
This is a casual, as-needed position. Casual employees are called to work based on staffing needs, without a guaranteed number of hours.
Qualifications
  • Valid Minnesota Driver's license and clean driving record required.
  • Current STS Certification or willing to pursue certification once hired.
  • Current physical card as required by law or willing to obtain once hired.

  • Individuals who display a pleasant, outgoing and positive attitude towards all customers internal and external.
  • Individuals who enjoy driving, greeting, scheduling and directing patients.
