Job description

Description
Field Recruiter - Nurses & Home Health Aides (North NJ)
Location: North New Jersey (field-based) - occasional office days, primarily on the road Compensation: $60,000-$65,000 base + bonus/commission (performance-based, uncapped potential) Reports to: Executive Director & Business Development
The Role
Sunshine Homecare is looking for a driven, sales-minded Field Recruiter to fuel our growth across North Jersey and beyond. This isn't a desk job - you'll spend most of your week out in the community: job fairs, open houses at our offices, nursing schools, HHA training programs, and colleges, building relationships and selling qualified nurses and certified home health aides on joining our team.
Home care is a competitive market. The agencies that win are the ones with recruiters who can close. We have a strong, active pipeline of open cases waiting on the right caregivers - your job is to find them, sell them on us, and get them working.
This role is 100% focused on recruiting. You will not be pulled into onboarding, scheduling, or case management - your job is to keep the pipeline full.
What You'll Do
  • Represent Sunshine Homecare at job fairs, open houses, colleges, nursing schools, and HHA training programs across North NJ (with occasional travel elsewhere in NJ)
  • Source, pitch, and close qualified RNs, LPNs, and certified home health aides
  • Build and maintain relationships with schools, training programs, and community organizations to create a steady candidate pipeline
  • Work directly with the Executive Director and Business Development team to stay aligned on current openings, priority cases, and hot leads
  • Post job openings across recruitment platforms (Indeed, ZipRecruiter, etc.) to supplement field sourcing
  • Review incoming resumes and applications and conduct phone screens to assess candidate fit
  • Administer candidate pre-screening assessments as applicable
  • Coordinate and schedule interviews
  • Conduct reference checks and document findings thoroughly
  • Compile candidate information, interview notes, and assessment results into structured recommendations for internal review and approval, then hand off to the onboarding team
  • Maintain accurate recruitment records and ensure timely follow-up with candidates
  • Track recruiting activity (job fairs, leads, hires) and report on hiring metrics
  • Maintain compliance with applicable labor laws, regulations, and internal procedures
  • Maintain confidentiality in accordance with established policies, procedures, and industry standards
  • Keep an up-to-date Outlook calendar reflecting meetings, appointments, and availability
  • Participate in mandatory meetings as required by supervisor
  • Perform other related duties as assigned
What We're Looking For
  • Sales ability is essential. This role is about selling a job and an opportunity - comfort with cold outreach, objection handling, and closing is a must
  • Self-starter who's comfortable being out in the field most of the week, not behind a desk
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent organizational and time-management abilities
  • Professional judgment and discretion in handling confidential information
  • Ability to evaluate candidate qualifications and cultural fit
  • Collaborative and adaptable approach in a fast-paced environment
  • Comfortable with Microsoft Office Suite and learning new systems
  • Healthcare industry background is a strong plus
  • Familiarity with applicant tracking systems and job boards (e.g., Indeed, ZipRecruiter) is a plus
Required Qualifications
  • High school diploma required; college coursework or degree preferred
  • 2+ years of recruiting experience required, including home care or broader healthcare recruiting experience
  • Reliable transportation and a valid driver's license - this role requires regular travel throughout North NJ and occasionally elsewhere in NJ
  • Comfortable working independently and hitting the road daily
Compensation & Structure
  • $60,000-$65,000 base salary
  • Bonus/commission structure on top of base (details discussed during interview)
  • In-office presence approximately 2 days/week; remainder of time in the field

Work Location: Field-based, primarily North New Jersey (occasional travel elsewhere in NJ)
