What does a successful VP, Product Management, Cards do at Fiserv?

The Vice President, Product Management, Cards is responsible for defining and executing the product strategy for Fiserv's Merchant Solutions SMB Cards portfolio. This leader will build and scale branded credit card and payment solutions in partnership with major card networks such as Visa, Mastercard, and
other issuing partners, creating differentiated financial products that deepen merchant relationships, drive customer acquisition and loyalty, and accelerate revenue growth.

This leader will own the end-to-end product lifecycle-from market strategy and business case development through product design, commercialization, and ongoing optimization. Working across Product, Engineering, Risk, Finance, Operations, Legal, Marketing, Sales, and external ecosystem partners, the VP will deliver innovative card products that seamlessly integrate into the Clover and Fiserv
merchant ecosystem. The ideal candidate combines deep payments expertise, strong commercial acumen, exceptional product leadership, and experience building strategic partnerships across the card issuing ecosystem.


What You Will Do:
Product Strategy & Vision and Development

  • Define and execute the long-term product strategy and roadmap for the Merchant Solution Cards portfolio.

  • Develop innovative branded credit card offerings for Clover merchants, small businesses, enterprise clients, and future market segments.

  • Build differentiated products that strengthen merchant engagement, increase payment volume, and expand customer lifetime value.

  • Own the product vision from concept through commercialization while ensuring alignment with Merchant Solutions strategy.

  • Lead the end-to-end product development lifecycle from ideation through launch and continuous enhancement and partner with Engineering and Design to deliver modern, scalable, digital-first card experiences.

  • Establish KPIs that measure adoption, activation, spend, portfolio growth, profitability, and customer satisfaction.

Strategic Partnerships

  • Build executive relationships with Visa, Mastercard, issuing banks, processors, fintech partners, and other ecosystem participants.

  • Lead commercial negotiations supporting new card products and strategic partnerships.

Commercial Ownership

  • Develop business cases supporting new card products and portfolio investments.

  • Own product P&L performance, growth targets, and financial outcomes.

  • Partner with Sales, Marketing, and Customer Success to drive product adoption and portfolio expansion.

  • Optimize pricing, rewards, customer acquisition strategies, and portfolio economics.

  • Monitor competitive landscape and rapidly respond to changing market dynamics

Innovation & AI

  • Identify opportunities to leverage AI and advanced analytics to improve underwriting, fraud detection, customer servicing, personalization, and portfolio management.

  • Partner across Merchant Solutions to integrate card products into broader commerce experiences.

  • Drive experimentation, rapid learning, and continuous product innovation.

What You Need to Have:

  • 12+ years of progressive product management experience within payments, financial services, fintech, banking, or card issuing.

  • Proven experience launching and scaling branded credit card or commercial card products.

  • Deep understanding of the payments ecosystem, including issuing, acquiring, card networks, processors, and financial institutions.

  • Experience owning product strategy, commercialization, and financial performance.

  • Demonstrated success leading complex cross-functional initiatives in highly regulated environments.


What is Nice to Have:

  • Experience working directly with Visa, Mastercard, or other major payment networks.

  • Experience with SMB financial products and embedded finance.

  • Knowledge of merchant acquiring and commerce platforms.

  • Experience with digital wallets, loyalty, rewards, BNPL, or lending products

Salary Range

$190,000.00 - $316,800.00

These pay ranges apply to employees in New Jersey and New York. Pay ranges for employees in other states may differ.
