Director of Cardiovascular & Interventional Radiology (CVIR)

Nova is seeking an experienced and visionary Director of Cardiovascular & Interventional Radiology (CVIR) to lead a high-performing team at Inova Alexandria Hospital. This is an exceptional opportunity for an operational and clinical leader who is passionate about advancing cardiovascular services, driving innovation, and delivering outstanding patient outcomes.

Even more exciting, this leader will play a key role in shaping the future of care as Inova prepares to open its new, state-of-the-art Alexandria Hospital campus at the former Landmark Mall redevelopment site. This transformational investment will redefine healthcare in the region, bringing together cutting-edge technology, expanded specialty services, and modern patient-centered spaces to serve the Alexandria community for decades to come.

Responsibilities include:

  • Provide strategic and operational leadership for the Cardiovascular & Interventional Radiology (CVIR) services at Inova Alexandria Hospital, including Interventional Radiology, Cardiac Catheterization Labs, Electrophysiology Lab, Recovery Unit, and Cardiac and Vascular Diagnostic Services.
  • Partner with physician leaders and hospital executives to develop and execute service line strategies that drive exceptional patient outcomes, operational excellence, financial performance, quality, safety, and employee engagement.
  • Lead the continued growth and positioning of Inova Alexandria Hospital's cardiovascular and interventional programs as a premier regional destination for advanced cardiovascular and minimally invasive procedures.
  • Foster strong interdisciplinary partnerships across the health system to enhance patient access, streamline care delivery, and improve the overall patient experience.
  • Direct workforce planning and staffing strategies to ensure appropriate resources while promoting a highly engaged, collaborative, and accountable team culture.
  • Develop, mentor, and empower leaders by establishing clear performance expectations, providing ongoing coaching, and creating opportunities for professional growth and succession planning.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives by leveraging data, quality metrics, and operational best practices to improve clinical outcomes, patient satisfaction, efficiency, and financial performance.
  • Oversee departmental operations, including strategic planning, budget management, regulatory compliance, resource allocation, and achievement of organizational and service line goals.

Minimum requirements:

  • Certification - Basic Life Support
  • Five years of experience in management and leadership roles.
  • Clinical background and leadership experience specific to CVIR.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Nursing (BSN) or Bachelor's Degree in a related field.
