Job Summary


 The Staff Accountant is responsible for supporting our Accounting General Ledger activity. The focus will be on posting Journal Entries, rolling and updating account reconciliations, maintaining integrity within journal entry data, performing basis financial analysis and supporting the accounting team as needed.  


Responsibilities

  • Prepare and post basic journal entries in accordance with established accounting procedures
  • Post payroll journal entries and reconcile payroll-related reports
  • Assist with bank reconciliations and posting transactions as needed for bank recs
  • Roll forward and maintain recurring accounting schedules and supporting files
  • Support month-end close activities for multiple plants
  • Assist with account reconciliations and variance follow-ups 
  • Ensure accuracy and completeness of accounting records 
  • Maintain organized documentation to support audits and internal reviews 
  • Support fixed asset accounting activities such as additions, disposals, and depreciation tracking
  • Support other general staff accounting tasks as needed, including ad hoc analysis and reporting 


Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or greater in Accounting, Finance, Business, or related field
  • Ability to communicate in Spanish is preferred
  • CPA or CIA, preferred 
  • 2+ years of experience in accounting focused on general ledger
  • Strong knowledge of accounting fundamentals including US GAAP 
  • Strong understanding of accounting and finance operations (month-end close, systems, controls, reporting) 
  • Hands-on experience with finance or accounting 
  • Demonstrated history critical thinking and attention to detail 
  • Strong communication and influence skills; comfortable driving change without formal authority 
  • Highly organized, resilient, and pragmatic in imperfect environments
