Job description

Healthcare's helping hand.
CHG shook things up in 1979 by inventing the locum tenens staffing model. We connect doctors with patients who need their care. As the largest physician staffing firm in America, our providers treat millions of patients each year.
Our industry is growing and demand is high. This means you'll have plenty of opportunities to grow and develop in your career. Keeping healthcare healthy can be as fun as it is rewarding

This position is a tech-forward analytical partner on CHG's Financial Planning and Analysis (FP&A) team, supporting business leaders with forecasting, financial modeling, and data-driven insights. This is a role for someone with a quantitative or data-oriented background who is comfortable working with data beyond spreadsheet basics - experienced working with large data sets and querying data as needed, and actively using AI tools to sharpen their analysis. You will serve as a trusted resource for your business partners, framing decisions with credible data and actively contributing to a smarter, more forward-looking finance function. P&A team is positioned to be the most forward-thinking group in Financial Management when it comes to automation, analytics, and AI-assisted planning.

Responsibilities

  • Build and maintain financial models that support forecasting, budgeting, and scenario analysis for assigned business units
  • Support forecasting, budgeting, and monthly reporting for assigned business units
  • Act as a consultative financial partner to business leaders - helping them understand key drivers, anticipate risks, and make confident, data-backed decisions
  • Query and work with large financial data sets to extract data and surface insights that inform planning and business performance conversations, using SQL and data systems
  • Identify and contribute to the automation of recurring reporting and analytical workflows, and help build tools that give business leaders faster, more independent access to financial data - moving the function from "report producers" to "insight generators"
  • Bring quantitative and data science fundamentals (statistics, modeling, Python-adjacent skills) that let us build smarter, more automated analytical workflows
  • Actively use AI tools to improve the quality and speed of their work - and can identify where AI adds value vs. where human judgment is required
  • Comfortable with ambiguity and designed to grow into a finance function that looks very different in three to five years

Qualifications

  • Demonstrates the ability to live the CHG core values
  • Advanced Excel skills and hands-on experience building financial models used in real planning cycles, plus experience querying and working with large data sets to extract and analyze information
  • Uses AI tools actively to improve the speed and quality of analytical work, and can identify where AI creates real efficiency vs. where human judgment matters
  • Strong analytical acumen and intellectual curiosity about what drives business performance - asks why the numbers are what they are, not just what they are - and communicates that story through clear, well-visualized narratives that drive decisions for non-finance audiences
  • Comfortable working with large or complex data sets and using modern tools - including AI - to manipulate data, or actively building these skills to automate and scale analytical work

Education & Experience

  • 3-5 years of experience, or equivalent analytical internship and project experience in a data-focused role
  • Bachelor's degree in finance or a related quantitative field - Mathematics, Data Science, Statistics, Economics, Quantitative Analysis of Markets and Organizations (QAMO), or similar
  • Advanced Excel proficiency, including financial modeling
  • Experience working with large data sets and querying data as needed

Preferred

  • Familiarity with FP&A or BI tools such as OneStream, Power BI, or Tableau
  • SQL, Python, or R experience for advanced data manipulation and analysis
  • Experience with statistical or econometric modeling (regression, forecasting models (Monte Carlo), hypothesis testing)
