Job description

Cardiology Office Secretary

Provides secretarial and administrative support services such as preparing correspondences in final form, receiving visitors, scheduling meetings, maintaining personnel and general department files and conducting special projects to the COR Cardiology Department.

Core Competencies

Maintains and organizes general department files. Coordinates meetings. Opens, sorts and distributes mail to appropriate personnel. Opens mail for billing department, separates payments into Insurance Payment Batch and Patient Co-pay Batch. Prepares deposit spreadsheet and bank deposit slips. Prepares daily Billing Deposits. Provides full back of payments to Billing Rep for Payment Positing. Maintains and orders office supplies, training materials and dietary supplies for department. Maintains provider credentialing information. Maintains confidential records of employee files. Assists with general office duties including faxing, photocopying, mail/shipping, etc. Assists with orientation of new employees as assigned. Assists with orientation and training of new employees and volunteers as assigned. Utilizes effective communication in all interpersonal interactions including follow-up. Understands basic computer programs.
