As a cardiology physician assistant, you help provide cardiothoracic care to patients under the supervision of a cardiologist. In this role, you may participate in surgical or other medical procedures, help explain aspects of heart and cardiovascular health care to patients, or answer common questions about surgery and other treatment options. Cardiology physician assistants also perform a variety of administrative tasks, including making daily rounds, performing admissions, and performing tests and exams that do not require a cardiologist. Fulfilling the responsibilities and duties of a cardiology physician assistant requires attention to detail, communication skills, and the ability to maintain any qualifications required by your employer or state.
