Job description

What Finance Operations contributes to Cardinal Health
Finance oversees the accounting, tax, financial plans and policies of the organization, establishes and maintains fiscal controls, prepares and interprets financial reports, oversees financial systems and safeguards the organization's assets.
Finance Operations is responsible for the oversight and overall performance of the following core financial processes. This includes pricing administration, rebates, cash application, chargebacks, billing, accounts payable and employee travel & expense.

This role will be primarily responsible for the accurate and timely application of cash receipts related to Customer Cash Application, Distributor Sales Agreements (DSAs) and Rebates. The Senior Analyst will play a key role in developing and implementing efficient processes, ensuring compliance with internal controls, and collaborating with internal and external stakeholders, including our Genpact partners. This position requires a strong understanding Cash application and has the ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in related field, or equivalent work experience, preferred
  • 2-4 years of experience, preferred
  • 3-5 years of experience in cash application, accounts receivable, or accounts payable preferred
  • Experience working in Oracle EBS or Oracle Fusion is highly preferred
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel (including pivot tables, vlookups, etc.).
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Detail-oriented and highly organized
  • Experience working with outsourced service providers is a plus

Responsibilities:

  • Apply cash receipts accurately and efficiently to customer accounts.
  • Research and resolve payment discrepancies, including short payments, overpayments, unapplied and unidentified payments.
  • Analyze customer accounts and payment history to identify trends and potential issues.
  • Develop and maintain standard operating procedures (SOPs) for cash application processes related to Customer payments, DSA and rebates.
  • Collaborate with the Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, Sales, and Accounting teams to resolve customer inquiries and payment issues.
  • Work closely with our Genpact partners to ensure seamless integration of processes and efficient cash application.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of internal controls to ensure the accuracy and integrity of financial data.
  • Prepare and analyze reports related to cash application performance, including key performance indicators (KPIs).
  • Participate in process improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency and effectiveness of cash application processes.
  • Stay up-to-date on industry best practices and regulatory requirements related to cash application and accounts payable.
  • Provide training and support to other team members as needed.
  • Support month-end closing activities, including reconciliations and reporting.
