Job description

JOB SUMMARY

To be successful in this position at Cardinal Glass, a Production Technician must recognize that focus and unity are key principles of effective management. The role requires a commitment to maintaining order, equity, and initiative within the team.

DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES

•Works anywhere in the plant, as needed.
•Performs work as directed by supervision.
•Keeps the work area clean and organized.
•Moves glass from one rack to another to prepare for shipment.
•May spray powder between the panels of glass.
•Repeat the process until the rack is full.
•Secures the glass with binding, honeycomb strips and corner boards.
•Work elsewhere as directed by supervision.
•Reads and comprehends safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedural manuals, along with other similar documents.
•Requires the need to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals.
•Trims the excess vinyl off units from clave racks and placed on the inspection lines
•Produces a quality product in a timely manner.
•Wears all the required personal protective equipment for the specific job.
•Works as a Cardinal team member, not a specific department member.
•Other duties as assigned.


EDUCATION, KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE
Required Skills/Abilities: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.
•High School Diploma or equivalent
•Prior production work in a manufacturing plant is preferred.
•Requires the ability to read a tape measure to 16ths.
•Requires standing all day.
•Production Technicians are expected to handle glass up to 50 pounds by themselves and any glass over 50 pounds requires at least two people working together.
•Positive safety attitude.
