Cardiac Technician – RWJBarnabas Health
At RWJBarnabas Health, Cardiac Technician operates and assists in the monitoring of a patient on the Cardiothoracic Stepdown Unit. As a Cardiac Technician you administer individualized, professional patient care through efficient knowledge and safe practice of cardiothoracic step down unit procedures. Joining RWJBarnabas Health means joining a community where every Cardiac Technician is encouraged to grow, contribute, and make a meaningful impact.

A typical day for a Cardiac Technician may include:

  • Assuming responsibility for patient care and monitoring before, during and after procedures under the direction and supervision of an RN.
  • Executing special assignments with the unit assigned to them by the clinical director, ADPC or RN. Participates in quality improvement programs and inventory control.
  • Using an understanding of the principles of growth and development to assess each patient’s age-specific needs and provide age-specific treatment and care.
