UW Medical Center - Montlake has an outstanding opportunity for an Assistant Nurse Manager/ Registered Nurse to join our Complex Medicine / Ortho Unit.
WORK SCHEDULE
  • 90% FTE

DEPARTMENT DESCRIPTION
Specialty and Patient Population: 6SE is a 28 bed unit that specializes in acute medical-surgical care for medicine (not primary cardiac diagnosis) and orthopedic patients with bone cancer diagnoses. The unit has a diverse variety of patient diagnoses outside cardiac care and sees quick patient turnover, with length of stay averaging six days.
PRIMARY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Performs specific leadership functions related to clinical practice, education and/or management as delegated by and in collaboration with the Nurse Manager
  • Assumes staff assignments and preceptor responsibility
  • Provides leadership for unit and departmental activities that promote delivery of quality nursing care, effective problem solving and communication, and continued professional development for self and others

REQUIREMENTS
  • Bachelors of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred; applicable experience may substitute for education.
  • Charge nurse experience, preceptor experience and/or leadership experience
  • Current license to practice as a registered nurse in the State of Washington
  • Current or recent med-surg nursing experience.
