Job description

Join our team as a Day Shift, Full-Time Cardiac Rehab Therapist at INTEGRIS Health Southwest Medical Center in Oklahoma City, OK.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
EXPERIENCE:

  • 6 months to one year of experience as an exercise physiologist OR Cardiac Rehab Technician is required
     

EDUCATION:

  • Bachelor's degree in Exercise Physiology or PT (Physical Therapist)
     

LICENSE/CERTIFICATIONS:

  • PT (Physical Therapist) or Bachelor's degree in Exercise Physiology
  • BLS (Basic Life Support) Issued by American Red Cross or American Heart Association
  • Must be able to communicate effectively in English (verbal/written). 
     

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
EXPERIENCE:

  • Experience working with cardiac and/or pulmonary patients
  • ACLS and Stress testing experience


EDUCATION:

  • Master's degree in Exercise Physiology

The Cardiac Rehab Therapist responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following: 

  •  Gathers subjective and objective information pertaining to the client from written referral, computer made referral, clients' medical records, anthropometric measurements (utilizing ACSM and AACVPR guidelines) and findings from other health professionals.  Educates inpatients and outpatients and their families regarding cardiovascular and pulmonary disease process, interventions, post op/recovery, risk factors, heart failure, and home exercise as ordered by physician following ACSM and AACVPR guidelines. 
  •  Documents all evaluations, treatments, daily progress, vital signs, and discharge guidelines in appropriate charts as outlines in organizational procedures and policies and JCAHO guidelines. 
  •  Refers patients into the outpatient program from inpatient stay as appropriate and with physician approval. 
  •  Notifies physician concerning problems with client during exercise and makes recommendations concerning client.
  •  Assists cardiac rehab team members in establishing and writing exercise prescriptions for patients as well as program development. Reports to Cardiopulmonary Rehab Coordinator. Also reports to physician or RN any signification symptoms, maladaptive responses, etc identified during treatment.
