Work Schedule:
60% FTE, day/evening shift. Operational hours of the Prep/Recovery Cath Lab/EP Lab are 5:30am to 7:00pm. On-call responsibilities may be required for some weekends and/or holidays with a 60-minute response time. We offer a competitive starting pay; relevant work experience will be considered. Hours may vary depending on department need. You will work onsite at University Hospital in Madison, WI.

We are seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) to:
  • Provide specialized pre- and post-procedure care for adult patients undergoing cardiac catheterization, electrophysiology, structural heart, and interventional nephrology procedures in UW Health's nationally recognized Heart & Vascular program.
  • Care for a diverse patient population in a 12-bed prep/recovery unit, utilizing strong intermediate care (IMC) assessment skills while preparing patients for procedures, recovering post-procedure patients, and caring for select higher-acuity patients, including STEMI and TAVR patients requiring extended recovery.
  • Collaborate with an expert multidisciplinary team including interventional cardiologists, electrophysiologists, anesthesiologists, cardiovascular technologists, and Cath Lab nurses to deliver safe, efficient, patient- and family-centered care.
  • Join a rapidly growing cardiovascular program with an exciting expansion to 24 prep/recovery bays and procedure rooms planned for 2027, creating new opportunities to grow alongside one of the nation's leading heart programs.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree in Nursing (BSN) Preferred
Work Experience
  • Inpatient Units and Central Float (Adult & Pediatric), Venous Access Team (VAT), Radiology, Hemodialysis, Cardiovascular Laboratory: Six (6) months nursing experience or current participant in UW Health's Nurse Residency Program with successful completion of the Nurse Residency Orientation on unit/similar unit. Required
  • eICU: Two (2) years of nursing experience Required
  • Relevant RN Experience Preferred
Licenses & Certifications
  • Licensed as a Registered Nurse (RN) in the State of WI or holds a license issued by a jurisdiction that has adopted the nurse licensure compact Upon Hire Required
  • Current CPR/BLS Certification Upon Hire Required
  • ACLS within 6 months Required
  • Relevant certification Preferred
