Work Schedule:
90% FTE, day/evening shift. Operational hours of the Cath Lab/EP lab are 6:00am to 7:00pm. Required on-call responsibilities for off hours will include weekends and holidays with a 60-minute response time. We offer a competitive starting pay; relevant work experience will be considered. Hours may vary depending on department need. You will work onsite at American Family Children’s Hospital (AFCH) and University Hospital in Madison, WI.

We are seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) to work onsite in both our Peds Cath Lab at AFCH and Adult EP Lab at University Hospital:

  • Be an integral member of a talented multidisciplinary team working together to deliver quality care to pediatric patients, from neonatal to young adulthood, undergoing cardiovascular procedures and diagnostic cardiac catheterization in our hybrid cath lab at American Family Children’s Hospital (AFCH).
  • You will also work in our main cardiac EP lab at University Hospital caring for a wide range of patients from young adult to geriatric.
  • Practice in an environment that focuses on patient and family centered care.
  • Be highly engaged in acquiring new skills and integrating evidence-based nursing practices into the unit culture.
  • Enjoy participating in shared governance, with a unit-based council, to help support and drive quality improvement initiatives and lead practice change.
  • Preferred candidates will have pediatric experience and inpatient ICU level nursing experience or prior cath lab nursing experience.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Nursing (BSN) Preferred

Work Experience

  • Inpatient Units and Central Float (Adult & Pediatric), Radiology, Hemodialysis, Cardiovascular Laboratory: Six (6) months nursing experience or current participant in UW Health’s Nurse Residency Program with successful completion of the Nurse Residency Orientation on unit/similar unit Required
  • Venous Access Team (VAT) & eICU: Two (2) years of nursing experience Required
  • Relevant RN Experience Preferred

Licenses & Certifications

  • Licensed as a Registered Nurse (RN) in the State of WI or holds a license issued by a jurisdiction that has adopted the nurse licensure compact Required
  • Current CPR/BLS Certification Required
  • ACLS within 6 months Required
  • PALS within 6 months Required
  • Relevant Certification Preferred
