Job description

Piedmont Healthcare is seeking Board-Certified or Board-Eligible Cardiac Anesthesiologist to join our distinguished team at Piedmont Augusta Hospital. The ideal candidate will have fellowship training in cardiac anesthesia and demonstrate clinical excellence, leadership and a commitment to deliver exceptional, patient-centered care within a collaborative and innovative clinical environment. This position is open to new graduates who demonstrate a commitment to learning, professional growth, and delivering high-quality patient care within a collaborative team environment.
Available Schedules:
  • 8-10 hour weekday shifts.Premium Pay Call from home about once a week and average of 1.5 weekend shifts per month

Position Highlights & Responsibilities:
Provide comprehensive cardiac anesthesia services for a wide range of cardiac and thoracic procedures, including CABG, valve repair/replacement, TAVR, and other complex cardiac interventions
Perform and interpret transesophageal echocardiography (TEE) as part of intraoperative management
Deliver anesthesia care for both cardiac and non-cardiac surgical cases as needed
Supervise and collaborate with Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetists (CRNAs) and Anesthesiologist Assistants (AAs) to ensure safe, high-quality anesthesia care
Participate in 24/7 cardiac anesthesia coverage in coordination with the anesthesia care team
Utilize Epic EMR for documentation and clinical communication
Contribute to departmental initiatives focused on quality improvement, patient safety, and clinical innovation
Requirements:
  • MD or DO degree
  • Board Certified or Board Eligible in Anesthesiology
  • Active Georgia medical license (or eligible and willing to obtain Georgia licensure
  • Fellowship training in Cardiothoracic Anesthesia
  • Minimum of 12 years of experience in general anesthesia (newer physicians with relevant training are encouraged to apply)

Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary cardiovascular care team
