Manager, Project Management - Card Technology Partnerships (Hybrid)

The Partnerships Tech and Operations team is seeking a motivated Manager, Project Manager to join our Partnerships Tech and Operations team within our Partnerships Customer Experience and Operations organization. The Partnerships Tech and Operations team provides oversight of and support for the Partnerships credit card programs. We are seeking a dedicated, disciplined professional who excels in a team environment.

The Role:

As a manager in Partnerships Tech and Operations, you will be responsible for engaging with leaders across U.S. Card and supporting LOBs as well as leaders from our external partners to develop, drive and deliver both technical and operational intent while maintaining the highest levels of well managed excellence. The Manager will be responsible for independently leading and overseeing BAU well managed activities, delivery of new technical and operational intent and management of intent changes. The Manager will also be responsible for identifying continued improvements and establishing well managed processes, driven by insights, across both vertical and horizontal teams.

Responsibilities:

Relationship Management

  • Build deep relationships and understand the motivations and heart of our clients

  • Represent client perspective with internal teams and COF perspective with the client

  • Ability to interact and communicate clearly and effectively across a diverse range of stakeholders

  • Create and deliver effective presentations and communications; guiding and influencing discussions and decisions

  • Collaborate cross-functionally to provide strategic and tactical thought leadership to effectively drive results

  • In partnership with stakeholders, prioritize intent with the most business value and ensure flawless delivery

Project Management

  • Develop new intent with a focus on documentation and audit readiness

  • Manage multiple tasks and projects in a fast-paced and changing environment

  • Ability to quickly understand business needs and translate these needs into end-to-end solutions (e.g., business requirements, tech specs, test cases / resources)

  • Demonstrate a working knowledge of APIs, middleware, and network integrations to effectively manage complex troubleshooting efforts across multiple platforms and technical disciplines.

  • Utilize SQL to drive data-driven solutions and insights, ensuring that technical specifications and end-to-end solutions are grounded in accurate data analysis.

  • Oversee the lifecycle of external partner data sharing, including the management of file interfaces, PGP keys, and public key refreshes to ensure secure and uninterrupted business operations.

  • Assimilate information and requirements from a variety of sources into one comprehensive view

  • Manage scope to balance resources and time to ensure deliverables are met

  • Communicate status and escalations appropriately and timely with all stakeholders

  • Identify obstacles early and work closely with teams to find creative solutions

Process Management

  • Review processes and intent end-to-end, through the eye of the business, customers and other key stakeholders, and deliver well-managed products flawlessly

  • Deliver our well-managed agenda with an eye toward continual process improvement, driving horizontal scale and optimization

  • Proactively shares learnings across the team

  • Develop data driven solutions to optimize customer experience

  • Recognize and implement automation opportunities

  • Manage complex troubleshooting efforts that cross multiple platform, technical disciplines and teams

  • Provides integrated and consistent operations support and well-managed oversight across the Card Partnerships business

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree or Military experience

  • At least 3 years of Process Management, Project Management or Risk Management experience

  • At least 1 year of experience in Relationship Management

  • At least 1 year of experience using Google Suite

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Masters Degree or MBA

  • 4+ years of Process Management, Project Management or Risk Management experience

  • 2+ years of Relationship Management experience

  • 3+ years of experience in management of multiple projects concurrently in an autonomous environment

  • PMP, Lean, Agile or Six Sigma certification

The minimum and maximum full-time annual salaries for this role are listed below, by location. Please note that this salary information is solely for candidates hired to perform work within one of these locations, and refers to the amount Capital One is willing to pay at the time of this posting. Salaries for part-time roles will be prorated based upon the agreed upon number of hours to be regularly worked.

Chicago, IL: $138,100 - $157,700 for Manager, Project Management


McLean, VA: $151,900 - $173,400 for Manager, Project Management


Richmond, VA: $138,100 - $157,700 for Manager, Project Management









Candidates hired to work in other locations will be subject to the pay range associated with that location, and the actual annualized salary amount offered to any candidate at the time of hire will be reflected solely in the candidate's offer letter.

This role is also eligible to earn performance based incentive compensation, which may include cash bonus(es) and/or long term incentives (LTI). Incentives could be discretionary or non discretionary depending on the plan.
