Job description

The Senior Manager, Carbon Sales and Marketing role is part of Weyerhaeuser's Strategic Land Solutions segment and reports to the Director, Carbon Marketing. This role leads execution of the carbon portfolio sales plan, manages the sales pipeline, develops buyer relationships, and manages transaction execution across Weyerhaeuser's forest carbon portfolio. The successful candidate will combine commercial discipline, market insight, and cross-functional collaboration to build demand, convert opportunities into sales outcomes, and support achievement of revenue targets.

Location: This role is open to candidates who live in (or are planning to move to) one of the following states: Alabama, Arkansas, Arizona, California, Florida, Georgia, Idaho, Louisiana, Maine, Michigan, Mississippi, Montana, North Carolina, Oklahoma, Oregon, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, Texas, Utah, Virginia, West Virginia, Washington. 

Key Responsibilities

  • Execute the sales plan in support of our commercialization strategy, translating strategic direction into sales-generation activities that build demand, advance buyer engagement to achieve revenue targets.

  • Identify, qualify and engage prospective buyers, develop relationships, coordinate follow-up, and advance opportunities from initial engagement through transaction execution.

  • Manage the carbon sales pipeline, including lead qualification, opportunity tracking, deal prioritization, account planning, and regular reporting on pipeline health, conversion progress, and forecasted sales outcomes.

  • Manage carbon credit transaction execution, including coordinating term sheets, RFP responses, buyer due diligence, contracting inputs, milestone tracking, and internal approvals in partnership with Legal, Finance, Forest Carbon, and other functional teams.

  • Maintain sales forecasts, credit availability tracking, and portfolio analytics to align buyer demand, project supply, pricing scenarios, and revenue expectations across the carbon portfolio.

  • Represent the carbon portfolio at select industry events and conferences, customer meetings and market events to build relationships, support business development efforts, and strengthen market awareness.

  • Identify market signals, buyer needs, competitive dynamics, and process improvement opportunities that strengthen pipeline quality, improve transaction efficiency, and inform updates to the carbon marketing and sales strategy.

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field, with 8 years of relevant experience; master's degree or equivalent experience preferred. 
  • Proven sales leadership experience, including commercial plan execution, pipeline management, buyer qualification, and revenue-focused outcomes. 
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to synthesize complex information and engage effectively with internal teams and external decision-makers. 
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities, including experience with sales forecasting, portfolio analytics, pricing scenarios, and revenue expectations. 
  • Advanced proficiency in Excel and Power BI, with preferred experience in carbon markets, environmental commodities, sustainability, renewable energy, or a related commercial market.
  • Travel up to 50%

Compensation: This role is eligible for our annual merit-increase program, and we are targeting a salary range of $119,000-$178,800 based on your level of skills, qualifications and experience. You will also be eligible for our Annual Incentive Program, which offers a cash bonus targeting 20% of base pay. Potential plan funding may range from zero to two times that target.

Benefits: When you join our team, you and your dependents will be offered coverage under our comprehensive employee benefits plan, which includes medical, dental, vision, short and long-term disability, and life insurance. We offer a pre-tax Health Savings Account option which includes a company contribution. Other benefit options are also available such as voluntary Long-Term Care and Employee Assistance Programs. Retirement: Employees are able to enroll in our company's 401k plan, which includes a paid company match in addition to our annual contribution equal to 5% of your base salary.

Paid Time Off or Vacation: We provide eligible employees who are scheduled to work 25 hours or more per week with 3-weeks of paid vacation to use during your first year of employment. In addition, after being employed for six months, eligible employees begin to accrue vacation for future use. We also recognize eleven paid holidays per year, providing a total of 88 holiday hours and paid parental leave for all full-time employees.
