Job Description:

The Sr. Project Manager's role is to plan, execute, and finalize projects according to company's strict guidelines and within the budget for the construction project. This includes acquiring resources and coordinating the efforts of team members and third-party contractors or consultants in order to deliver projects according to the plan. The Senior Project Manager will also define the project's objectives and oversee quality control throughout its life cycle.

What You Will Do:

  • Manages and supports project teams consisting of 5-20 staff members including Project Coordinators, Project Engineers, Assistant Project Managers, Project Managers, and Superintendents.
  • Plans the projects in order to accomplish its goals within constraints such as schedule, cost and agreed quality standards.
  • Defines project scope, goals and deliverables that support business goals in collaboration with senior management and stakeholders.
  • Manages communication and sets project expectations to team members and stakeholders in a timely fashion and on an ongoing basis.
  • Estimates the resources and participants needed to achieve project goals.
  • Attends design meetings and provides constructability comments and direction on drawings.
  • Responsible for drafting and submitting budget proposals and recommends subsequent budget changes as necessary.
  • Negotiate and execute contracts and change orders for subcontractors and consultants.
  • Determines and assesses need for staffing and/or consultants and make the appropriate recruitments, if necessary, during project cycle.
  • Delegates tasks and responsibilities to appropriate personnel.
  • Identifies and resolves issues and conflicts within the project team.
  • Plans and schedules project timelines and milestones using appropriate tools.
  • Develop and deliver progress reports, proposals, requirements documentation, and presentations.
  • Determines the frequency and content of status reports from the project team, analyze results, and troubleshoot problem areas.
  • Proactively manages changes in project scope, identifies potential crises, and devises contingency plans.
  • Defines project success criteria and disseminates them to involved parties throughout project life cycle.
  • Coaches, mentors, motivates and supervises project team members and contractors, and influences them to take positive action and accountability for their assigned work.
  • Managers and conducts performance evaluations for direct reports.
  • Builds, develops, and grows any business relationships vital to the success of the project.
  • Conducts project postmortems and creates a recommendations report in order to identify successful and unsuccessful project elements.
  • Develops best practices and tools for project execution and management.
  • Physically able to participate in training sessions, presentations, and meetings.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

What You Bring

  • 10+ years of experience in project/development manager.
  • Associates Degree or higher in Project Management or related field.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of construction and building codes required.
  • Proficiency in MS Project, MS Outlook, MS Word, MS Excel, and MS Windows.
  • Ability to guide, direct, and coordinate a department with five or more employees.
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively run a department in an efficient manner.
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret prints, architectural drawings, financial and job cost reports.
  • Ability to respond to common inquiries or clarifications from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community.
  • Excellent knowledge of the industry and trends impacting the business.
  • Excellent customer service orientation and excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to travel for the purpose of meeting with clients, stakeholders, or off-site personnel/management.

Salary Range:

$180,000-$220,000
