Job description

The Field Service Technician will perform routine and complex work related to the general biomedical equipment, and diagnostic medical equipment primarily used in hospitals, surgical centers, and clinics. Must be willing to travel.
  • Must have a minimum of 3 years experience as a biomedical equipment technician.
  • Experience in calibrating biomedical test and simulation equipment (PMEL) highly desired and preferred.
  • Military/DOD training, AA degree or equivalent on the job training required.
  • Candidate must be willing to travel to local and out of town on-site locations in company provided vehicles.
  • Great attitude and strong desire to learn new skills required.
  • Familiar with ISO 17025 quality systems preferred.
  • Will be relied upon to work with minimal supervision/guidance.
  • Must be self-motivated and strong work ethic a must.
  • Must possess good communications and customer service/relations skills.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office and calibration software preferred.
  • Capable of lifting up to 50 pounds unassisted.
  • Pay based on experience level; company car, credit card, cell phone, laptop, printer provided.
  • Must have and maintain a valid US driver's license and good driving record.
  • Must be able to work in the US without Visa sponsorship.

Duties

  • Perform calibration, and routine maintenance of biomedical equipment according to specifications and established procedures.
  • Troubleshoot and repair diverse medical devices, utilizing hand tools, computer hardware diagnostics, and detailed schematics to identify issues efficiently.
  • Conduct preventive maintenance to ensure equipment reliability and compliance with safety standards.
  • Use CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management System) software to document service activities, track repairs, and schedule upcoming maintenance tasks.
  • Assist with equipment upgrades and component replacements, ensuring minimal downtime for healthcare facilities.
  • Provide training and technical support to end-users on proper device operation and basic troubleshooting procedures.
  • Maintain accurate records of service reports, calibration logs, and equipment history for compliance purposes.

Experience

  • Proven experience involving biomedical or medical equipment repair and maintenance.
  • Strong mechanical knowledge with the ability to interpret schematics and technical manuals effectively.
  • Familiarity with OEM guidelines, and PM procedures is highly desirable.
  • Hands-on experience with hand tools, computer hardware diagnostics, and electronic troubleshooting techniques.
  • Knowledge of CMMS systems for work order management and documentation is preferred.
  • Ability to work independently in diverse environments while maintaining high standards of safety and quality.
