Job description

Overview
Assembly of valves, gearboxes, operators, trunks, and other mechanical components. Disassembly and troubleshooting of same. Perform fitting, scraping, grinding, and honing. Install and torque fasteners. Precision measurement of parts. Completion of hardcopy and electronic documentation. Perform hydrostatic and air testing of components. Use hand tools, portable power tools, and hydraulic torquing equipment.

Qualifications
Required:
  • High school education or GED or 2+ years relevant technical experience
  • 0-5 years of assembly experience
  • Must be available for all shifts

Preferred:
  • Ability to read mechanical assembly and detail drawings
  • Proficiency with precision measuring tools is desired.
  • Candidates who have successfully completed the CT Department of Labor Eastern Workforce Investment Board Training Program
  • Former automtive mechanic education or experience
  • Former assembly/disassembly experience

Skills
  • Ability to work independently or as part of a team.
  • Proficiency in shop mathematics
