Job Summary:
The Collaborative Combat Aircraft (CCA) Program Management Team (PMT) is seeking an accomplished Associate Director to lead strategy and capture activities for international propulsion opportunities. Reporting directly to the CCA Campaign Manager within Pratt & Whitney Military Engines, this role will position our family of engines for growth across priority markets while supporting the maturation of technologies aligned with the broader product portfolio.
The CCA International Capture Manager will support multiple competitive pursuits across international markets, working closely with RTX sister business units, regional organizations, and in-country teams responsible for OCONUS customer engagement and capture. This position will ensure enterprise alignment across customer strategies, product offerings, technology investments, and pursuit priorities.
The Capture Manager will collaborate with customers and internal stakeholders to understand emerging mission requirements, support the shaping of propulsion solutions, and position the portfolio for emerging opportunities. This will include leading or supporting matrixed teams through opportunity qualification, strategy development, investment planning, proposal development, contract award, and transition to Program Management.
Success in this position requires a strong ability to navigate sister-BU organizational factors and standard work, align approaches to both internal and external customer needs, and clearly communicate strategies, decisions, risks, and recommendations to customers and senior leadership.
What You Will Do:
- Develop and execute international capture strategies for CCA, autonomous aircraft, uncrewed aircraft systems, and adjacent advanced propulsion opportunities.
- Coordinate closely with RTX sister business units, regional teams, and in-country organizations to develop integrated customer and capture strategies.
- Serve as the primary Military Engines focal point for assigned international CCA propulsion pursuits.
- Position the family of engines against emerging customer missions, requirements, aircraft concepts, and acquisition strategies.
- Lead customer analysis, competitive assessments, win strategy development, price-to-win activities, color-team reviews, and internal capture gates.
- Translate customer requirements and market intelligence into product priorities, technology roadmaps, and recommended investment plans.
- Coordinate with engineering, advanced technology, programs, finance, contracts, legal, export compliance, supply chain, and other functions to mature and execute capture strategies.
- Support the planning and execution of engine integration, technology maturation, and demonstration activities aligned with priority pursuits.
- Establish pursuit milestones, critical paths, budgets, schedules, decision points, and performance metrics.
- Identify capture risks and opportunities early enough for corrective actions or investment decisions to be made.
- Lead or support responses to requests for information, requests for proposals, market surveys, and other formal customer solicitations.
- Develop and present capture plans, strategic recommendations, technology roadmaps, and investment requests to senior leadership.
- Support Foreign Military Sales, Direct Commercial Sales, export authorization, and international industrial participation strategies as applicable.
- Negotiate and influence customers, partners, and internal stakeholders in support of long-term growth objectives.
- Travel domestically and internationally based on customer engagement and capture requirements.
Qualifications You Must Have:
- Bachelor’s degree and a minimum of 12+ years of relevant experience, or an advanced degree in a related field and a minimum of 10+ years of relevant experience. Experience to include: business development, capture management, program management, product strategy, and/or a related discipline (to include comparable military assignments, e.g. FAO, FMS case manager, security cooperation officer, defense attaché, or comparable international cooperation role), leading development programs, competitive captures, or complex proposal efforts, Foreign Military Sales, Direct Commercial Sales, export authorizations, international business development, and/or international program execution, developing and maintaining relationships with government, military, or aerospace industry customers, managing cost, schedule, risk, investment plans, and executive-level deliverables, leading within a highly matrixed organization that includes engineering, finance, contracts, legal, supply chain, operations, and other functions and ability to communicate complex technical, business, and strategic information to customers, partners, team members, and senior leadership.
- Ability to travel internationally.
- U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are authorized to access information under this program/contract.
Qualifications We Prefer:
- Experience (operations and/or sustainment) with military propulsion systems, gas-turbine engines, uncrewed aircraft, autonomous aviation systems, or Collaborative Combat Aircraft.
- Experience working across multiple RTX businesses, international regional organizations, and/or geographically distributed teams.
- Experience with competitive analysis, customer analysis, opportunity qualification, win strategy development, color teams, capture gates, and price-to-win analyses.
- Experience developing international industrial participation, offset, localization, teaming, or partner strategies.
- Experience evaluating missions, operational requirements, technologies, aircraft concepts, and propulsion-system capabilities.
- Experience developing and presenting strategic plans, annual operating plans, technology roadmaps, market assessments, and investment recommendations.

About Pratt & Whitney
Sourced by ZipRecruiter
Pratt & Whitney has a long history of leadership and innovation in the field of aviation propulsion. Our story begins in the 1920s and has flourished throughout the decades. We have continuously transformed and reinvented our businesses to offer superior products and services to our customers. In 1925, the Pratt & Whitney Aircraft Company was founded by Frederick B. Rentschler, pioneer of the air-cooled radial engine design which enabled unprecedented power-to-weight ratio. Its first engine, the R-1340 Wasp engine, transformed military and commercial aviation and is still in use today. In 1928, the Canadian division of the Pratt & Whitney Aircraft Company was established. In 1944, Pratt & Whitney began its gas turbine and jet propulsion initiative. The company constructed a wind tunnel, laboratory and engineering center to support our allies’ efforts in World War II. In 1945, wartime production included more than 300,000 Pratt & Whitney engines, touted by service members as extremely dependable – a legacy that continues today. From there, Pratt & Whitney continued to design and innovate more powerful, agile, and reliable engines becoming a leader in the aerospace industry. Today, Pratt & Whitney has more than 85,000 engines in service and more than 16,000 customers worldwide.
